About This RoleClimate Power is seeking a highly motivated Director to support the organization's clean energy economy campaigns. The Director will report to the Senior Advisor, Clean Energy Economy, and work with key stakeholders across the organization to help protect and expand clean energy policy progress, fighting back attacks and elevating the benefits to build power for future policy wins.
Responsibilities- Manage daily operations and long-term projects for Climate Power's Clean Energy Economy Campaigns, and direct daily workflow for campaign staff and allies
- Manage the Clean Energy Economy campaign's budget
- Lead project management across teams for Climate Power's clean energy campaign, including managing organization-wide plans around key moments and rollouts and identifying political opportunities for rapid response and long-term narrative-building
- Lead project management for long-term narrative building campaigns related, but not limited to, energy affordability, utility bills, and AI & data centers
- Analyze Climate Power's original research to identify applications for campaign strategy
- Lead Climate Power's work internally with the Senior Advisor to ensure that Climate Power's key opposition narratives, products, and research are being utilized across the organization and by external donors, partners, and other stakeholders
- Draft talking points, memos, partner updates, and other materials as assigned
- Initiate, conceive, develop, and implement new projects
- Assist Senior Advisor in communications interactions and products, including op-eds and reporter engagements. Represent Climate Power with external partners, as needed, at the direction of the Senior Advisor
- Manage team of consultants, including overseeing external Business and Labor partner relationships and coalition meetings
- Lead debrief processes on major campaign projects by soliciting staff feedback and synthesizing recommendations
- Track, maintain, and spearhead outreach efforts to political and advocacy partners
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as need and capacity dictates.
Essential Qualifications- 7 years of relevant prior work experience in political partnerships, organizing, or communications
- 3 years of people and/or project management experience
- Must be able to work independently but also collaboratively with diverse groups of people, communities, and partners
- Ability to communicate information in a clear, compelling manner, be it verbally, graphically, or in writing
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality of work
- Willingness to stay up to date on best practices and trends relative to the work and projects in their purview
- Strong strategic and writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workspace, and content management systems

The full salary range for this role is listed below, with a given set of years correlating to a fixed 'step' or placement within a salary range. Location & Hours of OperationsClimate Power is a remote-first organization based in Washington, DC. This position can be located anywhere in the United States, but must be able to work Monday - Friday 9 am - 6 pm EST, plus weekends and evenings as the work dictates. Occasional travel is required as needed, typically 3-4 times per year.

Our interview process generally involves 2 rounds of interviews, ranging in length from 30-60 minutes. All interviews will be conducted via Google Meet or Zoom. Successful candidates that move forward in the hiring process, will be invited to complete a skills assessment activity (for which they will receive payment) and will undergo a vetting process, including reference and background check.
