The Opportunity

Are you a strategic supply chain leader who thrives on driving results, building strong supplier partnerships, and leading high-performing teams? Hitachi Energy is seeking a Unit Operating Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to lead sourcing and supply chain initiatives for our Grid Components business area that directly impact operational performance, cost competitiveness, and customer satisfaction.

In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for strategic sourcing activities, supplier performance, spend management, and material availability while ensuring alignment with business objectives and supply chain strategies. Working closely with internal stakeholders, category managers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams, you will develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize total cost of ownership, mitigate risk, and strengthen supply reliability.

You will play a critical role in supporting the entire value chain—from the bidding process through order execution and invoice management—while driving continuous improvement initiatives, cost-saving programs, supplier development activities, and cross-functional projects. This position also offers the opportunity to lead and develop a team, influence business decisions, and contribute to the success of a global organization focused on innovation and sustainability.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that improve cost, quality, delivery performance, and supply continuity.

  • Lead strategic sourcing activities, supplier negotiations, RFQs, and spend management initiatives.

  • Drive local strategic sourcing activities and spend management initiatives.

  • Drive material cost optimization, cost avoidance, and margin improvement programs.

  • Partner with planning, manufacturing, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure material availability and operational excellence.

  • Monitor supplier performance and lead escalation management, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support tendering and sales order execution by managing pricing, terms and conditions, and material cost controls.

  • Lead supply chain activities related to new product introductions, technology transfers, and Design-to-Value initiatives.

  • Develop, coach, and support team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Your Background
