Full Job Description
Job Title: Director, Catalog Optimization

A little bit about our team:

ADA provides independent artists and label partners with the resources, relationships, and expertise to share their creative vision with a global audience. As the independent distribution and services arm of Warner Music Group, we strive to be a valuable partner to our label clients, guiding them to success across the commercial and marketing space, working globally to deliver high-impact opportunities, and ensure reliable and visible content pipelines around the world. This role drives process, deepens relationships, and empowers ADA to be true strategic partners to our labels.

Your role:

In this role, you will transform the way we service our client base, understanding and delivering on the value that catalog brings in a streaming-focused landscape, educating clients on how best to exploit catalog, optimize their repertoire across all partners (including YouTube, Spotify, TikTok) and acting as the strategist for our largest catalog partners. You will focus on growing our labels’ businesses, identifying opportunities, and working cross-functionally to activate them. You’ll bring analytical, operational and commercial marketing expertise to elevate ADA’s service level and value proposition.

Here you’ll get to:

  • Develop and implement optimization strategies to maximize catalog performance across DSPs (Spotify, Apple, Amazon, etc) and social platforms (YouTube, Meta, TikTok, etc), focusing on distribution, monetization, channel development, and claiming solutions.

  • Lead catalog pitching and account management by owning the pitch process, preparing materials, and securing playlist, algorithmic, and editorial opportunities for priority catalog releases.

  • Strengthen monetization infrastructure by partnering with WMG/ADA collaborators to streamline processes, improve systems, and deliver outstanding services for catalog clients globally.

  • Leverage analytics and reporting to identify growth opportunities, measure catalog performance, track KPIs, and make data-driven recommendations to enhance consumption and engagement.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Label Management, Commerce, Marketing, and Physical teams to drive catalog strategy, integrate initiatives, and support priorities and opportunities.

  • Analyze emerging DSP and social/video platform trends. Integrate these trends to find new opportunities in algorithms, monetization tools, and audience behaviors. Embed these insights into catalog optimization strategies that drive growth and revenue.

  • Identify and test fresh avenues in audience development, partner programs (e.g., Spotify Discovery Mode), and platform innovations to expand catalog reach and revenue.

  • Represent catalog strategy in client and partner forums, including business reviews and client meetings, positioning ADA as a leader in catalog optimization.

  • Create scalable guidelines covering catalog operations and growth. Include metadata management, product updates, and digital retail standards. Collaborate with ADA teams to maintain consistency and efficiency across accounts.

About you:

  • 5-7 years of experience in music or commercial experience, preferably with a focus on catalog repertoire

  • You have an expert understanding of how catalog functions both digitally and physically, and have a vision for how catalog will continue to operate in the modern streaming landscape.

  • A strong understanding of distribution, and its place within the creator, label, and DSP ecosystem, is encouraged, along with well-established relationships with both internal and external partners

  • You are comfortable working cross-functionally, and can serve as both a mentor and an independent contributor to get the job done.

  • You have demonstrably strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability; portfolio of relevant work appreciated

  • You have a high degree of data literacy, and are comfortable deriving insight with self-service BI tools and platforms

  • You are a problem solver, with the ability to reach out the right people to tear down roadblocks, accelerate timelines, and motivate others around you to success
