Direct Hire Technical | Houston, Texas, United States Job Summary: Technical Manager - Commodity Market Risk (Houston, TX) About the Role Join Enbridge as a Technical Manager, Commodity Market Risk and leverage your quantitative expertise to lead risk analytics in dynamic power, natural gas, and crude oil markets. In this senior role, you will drive advanced risk modeling, reporting automation, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance enterprise-wide risk management. Responsibilities - Lead the integrity and development of VaR models, P&L decomposition, and FEA VaR risk reporting for accurate enterprise-level analytics. - Develop, automate, and enhance risk reporting tools using Python and Power BI to drive insights and efficiency. - Conduct robust market risk assessments for new business initiatives to inform management and CFRMC decision-making. - Expand team capabilities in stress testing, back testing, scenario analysis, and VaR simulations. - Strengthen valuation controls, price curve validation, and ensure compliance with enterprise reporting standards. - Collaborate with Trading, Business Development, Risk, IT, Accounting, Legal, and Compliance teams to support the full transaction lifecycle. - Provide technical analysis and recommendations for Risk Policy approvals, market risk limits, strategies, and transaction types. - Monitor, report, and communicate risk policy compliance and non-compliance events to stakeholders. - Support quarterly management meetings with risk metrics, policy updates, and market risk communication. Required Skills and Experience - Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or Applied Sciences. - 8+ years of hands-on experience in risk management for power, natural gas, and/or crude oil markets. - Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and business intelligence applications (Power BI preferred). - Expertise in VaR, GMaR methodologies, scenario stress testing, back testing, and portfolio risk decomposition. - Strong quantitative and statistical analysis capabilities. - Demonstrated experience with Pricing Datawarehouse, ZEMA APIs, and risk reporting development. - In-depth understanding of risk control processes, market risk limits, and commodity MTM reporting. - Excellent communication skills for explaining financial models and complex analytics to diverse teams. - Track record of creating market risk tools, visualizations, and process improvements. Preferred Skills - Experience with OpenLink/Endur or similar ETRM systems. - Professional designations such as CFA, MBA, CA, ERP, or FRM. - Multi-commodity and multi-geography expertise, including exchange-traded and illiquid products. - Power markets expertise: LMP/congestion analysis, FTRs, capacity, RECs, utility auctions, ISO-specific regulations (PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, ERCOT, SPP, IESO, AESO), and risk management of spark spread/heat rate products.
