Full Job Description
ASME is seeking a Digital Platform Owner to join our Information Technology team. The Digital Platform Owner will be responsible for transforming ASME's validated digital engineering knowledge assets into scalable, customer-facing digital platforms, products, and ecosystem capabilities that serve humans, AI agents, and engineering systems. The position requires a unique blend of:

  • Platform product leadership
  • Ecosystem strategy
  • AI-enabled product thinking
  • API and digital delivery expertise
  • Enterprise transformation leadership
  • Cross-portfolio orchestration


Key responsibilities include:

Digital Platform, AI & Ecosystem Strategy

  • Define and own the multi-year strategy and roadmap for ASME's Digital Engineering Knowledge Platform.
  • Drive the integration of ASME standards intelligence into engineering ecosystems, including CAD/CAE, PLM, MBSE, digital twins, and AI-powered engineering tools.
  • Establish a unified digital platform connecting standards, learning, journals, technical content, APIs, and AI-enabled services.
  • Explore and operationalize emerging interoperability protocols and frameworks, including MCP, ACP, semantic interoperability standards, and AI orchestration technologies.
  • Prioritize enterprise platform capabilities and drive scalable growth across business units, content domains, and external standards ecosystems.


Product Delivery, Platform Services & Customer Enablement

  • Own the roadmap and delivery for customer-facing platform capabilities, including APIs, digital delivery, AI-enabled retrieval and contextual navigation, metadata services, analytics, and developer capabilities.
  • Partner with Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, AI teams, and vendors and business stakeholders.
  • Translate business priorities and customer use cases into executable product backlogs and platform initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for adoption, engagement, platform performance, ecosystem growth, and monetization.
  • Lead pilot-to-scale commercialization and customer enablement programs.


Monetization, Governance, & Cross-Enterprise Alignment

  • Partner with Strategy and Revenue offices to implement and operationalize next-generation monetization models, including embedded engineering intelligence, AI-agent consumption licensing, engineering services, platform partnerships and machine-access licensing.
  • Establish governance models for AI agent licensing, telemetry, semantic access controls, and digital commerce.
  • Serve as the primary owner for platform alignment across business stakeholders, delivery teams, and ecosystem partners.


Demonstrated knowledge and expertise across the following areas is required:

  • AI-enabled products, semantic platforms, or knowledge-driven ecosystems.
  • Building and scaling platform ecosystems
  • Operating within IP-sensitive, regulated, or high-trust domains.
  • Platform economics, monetization strategies, and ecosystem growth models.
  • Orchestrating cross-functional product portfolios across multiple business units or product lines


Preferred qualifications include:
  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Digital Platform Product Management
    • Ecosystem Product Leadership
    • API and Data Product Strategy
    • AI-Enabled Digital Products
    • Digital Transformation Programs
  • Familiarity with engineering systems such as CAD, PLM, MBSE, simulation, or digital twins.
  • Experience with API marketplaces, developer ecosystems, or platform governance.
  • Exposure to standards organizations, publishing, technical content, or enterprise knowledge systems.

This role is eligible for telecommuter work arrangement. Periodic business travel will be required, including but not limited to ASME Offices which are currently located in NYC (headquarters), NJ, DC, TX.

Annual base salary may vary based on geographic location. The New York City Metro salary range for this position is estimated to be between $160,000 - $190,000 per year.
