Description
Position Overview As a DevOps Platform Specialist, you'll help design, build, and maintain the infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and observability stack that power Rival's products. This role is about enabling developers through automation, infrastructure-as-code, and secure cloud practices-not just supporting workloads. You'll provision infrastructure, optimize cloud resources, and ensure Rival's production environments are secure, scalable, and reliable.
Key Responsibilities Platform Ownership - Build and manage cloud infrastructure in Azure using Terraform/OpenTofu/Bicep.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps to automate build, test, and deployment.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting with modern observability tools.
- Manage Kubernetes (AKS), containers, databases, queues, storage, and networking services.
- Ensure security best practices in the cloud: RBAC, secrets management, access controls.
- Maintain and support production environments, ensuring availability, performance, and resilience.
Enablement & Collaboration - Partner with developers to provide reusable templates, pipelines, and infrastructure patterns.
- Contribute to the platform roadmap and shape Rival's cloud strategy.
- Troubleshoot and optimize platform performance with reliability in mind.
Required Skills & Experience - 3+ years in DevOps, Cloud, or Platform roles.
- Hands-on experience with Azure IaaS/PaaS (VMs, AKS, SQL, networking).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar).
- Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, OpenTofu, or Bicep).
- Strong background in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS).
- Scripting/automation with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Experience supporting and maintaining production environments with performance and reliability focus.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Bonus Points For - SQL Server performance tuning/tracing.
- Experience with multi-tenant or single-tenant hosted environments.
- Networking fundamentals in cloud environments.
