The Role:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between development and operations teams, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of software products. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and maintaining automated processes for building, testing, and deploying applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Engineering & Automation
  • Design, build, operate, and continuously improve secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure supporting application workloads.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD capabilities, and automation that enable consistent, reliable, and efficient application delivery.
  • Support containerized application platforms and cloud services across the application lifecycle.
  • Production Operations & Reliability
  • Provide Tier-3 production support for applications and cloud infrastructure, including ownership of complex incident investigation, resolution, root-cause analysis, and preventative improvements.
  • Maintain and improve the availability, performance, resilience, scalability, and operational readiness of production services.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and support critical production incidents outside normal business hours, as required.
  • Observability & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain effective monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability capabilities that provide visibility into application and infrastructure health.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve reliability, performance, operational efficiency, and service recovery through engineering and automation.
  • Security & Operational Governance
  • Embed security, compliance, and appropriate controls into cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and operational processes.
  • Support effective release, change management, access control, and production operating practices in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Engineering Collaboration & Innovation
  • Partner with development, QA, security, infrastructure, and support teams to improve application delivery, operational readiness, and production reliability.
  • Apply automation, scripting, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled engineering capabilities, to improve DevOps workflows and engineering effectiveness.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders regarding service health, incidents, releases, and operational improvements.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Administrator, Site Reliability Engineer or similar role.
  • Experience designing, building, configuring, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline/AWS CodeBuild, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or comparable tools. Experience with AWS CodePipeline/AWS CodeBuild.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, GO).
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with administration of Relational and NoSQL Managed Database Services.
  • Knowledge of networking, security, and Linux system administration.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Docker Certified Associate).
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.


Pay Range Guidelines for this Position:
The salary range for this position is 128000 USD to 150000 USD. Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience and skills. In addition to your salary, Heidrick & Struggles offers discretionary bonuses (subject to eligibility requirements) and a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, disability leave, parental leave, paid time off and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Note: we have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
