Full Job Description
THE ROLE

As a DevOps Engineer at Closinglock, you'll be a core member of our engineering team, working alongside our Senior DevOps Engineer to build and improve the infrastructure powering a security-critical fintech platform that processes billions of dollars each month. You'll collaborate closely across the team to design, build, and maintain the systems that keep Closinglock reliable, secure, and fast. You'll have a real impact on our cloud architecture, deployment pipelines, and observability stack.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Contribute to the design, build, and maintenance of scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, supporting high availability and performance for our platform
  • Help evolve CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, safe, and frequent deployments across multiple environments
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, ensuring reproducibility and auditability
  • Monitor system health, performance, and security using observability tools (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch, PagerDuty) and respond to incidents with urgency and thoroughness
  • Work with containerized and orchestrated workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), supporting cluster operations and scaling strategies
  • Collaborate with software engineers to improve developer experience - reducing friction, improving deployment times, and contributing to self-service tooling
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and contribute to incident postmortems, supporting root-cause analysis and long-term reliability improvements
  • Contribute to internal documentation and runbooks so that institutional knowledge is shared and processes are repeatable

  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration
  • Working knowledge of Linux system administration and shell scripting (Bash)
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with security best practices: secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager), network segmentation, IAM policies, and encryption at rest/in transit

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a fintech, payments, or regulated industry environment (SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or similar compliance frameworks)
  • Proficiency with a scripting or programming language such as Python, Go, or Node.js
  • Experience with database performance tuning and managing managed database services (Aurora, RDS)
