Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team in Arlington (REMOTE), Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

Job Summary:

This role combines hands-on engineering with opportunities to shape cloud architecture, mentor team members, and drive continuous improvement across a rapidly evolving AWS-based environment.The ideal candidate brings deep experience building and operating production AWS environments, strong proficiency with automation tools, modern CI/CD practices, cloud-native monitoring, and secure DevOps workflows. Experience integrating data platforms, supporting application teams, and designing scalable cloud architectures is highly valued.

Job Duties:
  • Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, or CDK.• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing, secure deployments, and environment consistency.
  • Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting for cloud systems using CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Splunk Prometheus, or similar tools.• Support deployment and operational lifecycle of cloud applications using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, Step Functions, SQD, SNS, EventBridge, and Fargate
  • Automate configuration management, environment provisioning, and operational workflows using Python, Bash, and other scripting languages.
  • Integrate security controls, static code analysis, vulnerability checks, and compliance automation into DevOps pipelines.
  • Collaborate closely with cybersecurity teams, software engineers, and data teams to ensure secure, reliable cloud operations.
  • Review system architectures, reduce operational complexity, and ensure alignment with secure development and cloud best practices.
  • Generate automated operational dashboards, documentation, and reporting to support system visibility and readiness.
  • Mentor junior engineers, lead knowledge-sharing sessions, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Drive improvements across automation, observability, and performance optimization.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting production environments as a DevOps, Cloud, or SRE engineer.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience designing, deploying, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitHub runners, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, or CDK).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with containerization and container orchestration (Docker, ECS, EKS, or Fargate).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash or Ansible for automation tasks.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience implementing automated testing, static analysis, and security scanning within pipelines.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience integrating APIs, ingesting data, and supporting cloud-based data workflows.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience troubleshooting complex cloud environments and optimizing system performance.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience creating system documentation, runbooks, and operational workflows.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree/bachelors degree
  • Experience supporting modern front-end teams by managing API infrastructure and backend data delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity working with large data feeds or distributed systems
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, compliance automation, and secure cloud design.
  • Experience with AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Route 53, security groups, NACLs).
  • Experience with Linux/Unix administration and command-line tooling.
  • Background with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).
  • Experience with AI/ML or data processing pipelines is a plus.
  • Strong Git/GitHub skills including branching strategies, code review workflows, and automation.
  • Experience with cybersecurity fundamentals, cloud security concepts, and compliance frameworks.
  • Exposure to compiled languages (C, C++) is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with Python for automation, scripting, or tooling in cloud environments.
  • Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL) for querying and operational support.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch) for distributed or high-volume data workloads.
  • Experience designing or optimizing data ingestion pipelines involving mixed SQL/NoSQL storage layers.


NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $75,168 - $156,600. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. If the position offered in temporary, the position will not be eligible for incentive compensation. This position is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance with an employer contribution, flexible spending or health savings account, life and AD&D insurance, short and long term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program with company match, and additional voluntary or legally-required benefits.
