In this role, individuals will primarily work in a laboratory setting to design and perform experiments and evaluate technologies of interest for the business. Individuals will also be responsible for coordinating testing in the lab and managing lab assets, including various measurement systems.
Responsible for the design, planning, execution, documentation, commissioning, and handover of specific technical work packages, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This role involves detailed engineering for a specific discipline, including the design, calculation, and specification of related engineering documents, as well as field engineering. The Project Engineer stays current with best practices and relevant internal and external regulations, implementing these standards throughout the project lifecycle.

YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIESCandidates will perform in a wide range of tasks including:
- Develop test methods and protocols to be used for evaluation of medical devices;
- Develop test fixtures to characterize of medical devices and technologies;
- Design and develop electromechanical prototypes based on a variety of technologies;
- Design and develop simulated anatomical and physiological models for product testing;
- Setup and execute experimental tests in a laboratory setting;
- Perform data analysis and prepare technical reports and presentations;
- Prepare and present findings to cross functional program teams and external entities;
- Coordinate experiments across members of a cross-functional team
- Manage laboratory assets such as measurement equipment and consumables;
- Contribute to deliverables in support of fielded products and products under development.
WHO YOU AREBayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Graduate of a Master's, or PhD program;
- Knowledge and application of engineering and scientific concepts;
- Ability to apply technology, engineering concepts and methodologies to develop solutions;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with development of test fixtures;
- Previous lab or medical device experience;
- Experience with data analysis in Python;
- Experience with hardware design or rapid prototyping;
- Experience with electrical design and development of custom sensors or measurement equipment.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $86,320.00 to $129,480.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
