The City of Bothell is looking for a Development Review Supervisor to lead a talented team, guide complex development projects, and provide technical expertise in civil engineering and development review. This is an exciting opportunity to shape efficient processes, build strong community partnerships, and help deliver high-quality development services.

Recruitment information:
  • The first round of application will be reviewed on Friday, August 28, 2026
  • Default schedule will be the following: Mondays - Fridays (7 am - 4 pm or 8 am - 5 pm).

Note: This role will initially be onsite for up to the first six months with the potential opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule.

What will you do in this position?
  • Supervise and develop assigned staff by delegating tasks and projects, prioritizing workloads, coordinating training, monitoring performance and results, reviewing work products for quality, and implementing organizational changes.
  • Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise in utilities, civil engineering, and project management. Supports and mentors staff throughout all phases of permitting and development, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, codes, and project schedules, both on- and off-site.
  • Build collaborative relationships and promote effective communication among the Development Services team-including Community Development, Building Department, and Community Risk Reduction-as well as the community, contractors, developers, and City departments. Interprets and communicates City policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of development services programs and processes, including Design and Construction Standards, Municipal Code provisions, forms, and fee structures. Develops work plans, program improvements, processes, and forecasts to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.
