Full Job Description
About Nerdio

At Nerdio, our mission is to simplify the lives of IT professionals and maximize their Microsoft cloud and end user computing investments.

We support organizations of all sizes looking to deploy, manage, and cost-optimize native Microsoft technologies. We partner with Enterprises and Managed Service Providers all over the world to add value on top of their existing native Microsoft investments like Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Windows 365, and Microsoft Intune.

Created in 2016, Nerdio has always taken a market-leading and collaborative approach to cloud deployment and management. In fact, our product roadmap is greatly influenced by the regular feedback we receive from having seen companies deploy AVD into production environments several thousand times using Nerdio technology.

Today, Nerdio is used in over 50 countries by more than 15,000 organizations of every size and vertical. We're committed to delivering exceptional service and support, which starts with identifying and supporting the best staff possible.

We are a fast-moving, nimble company looking for individuals who are collaborative, empathetic, driven and who love to move at the speed of light. If you want to be part of the AVD transformation that Microsoft and Nerdio are leading, then we want to speak with you.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in building multi-cloud and multi-hypervisor orchestration solutions. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role focused on designing, implementing, and operating complex systems across Nutanix AHV, VMware ESXi, Azure, and related platforms.

The ideal candidate brings strong C# skills, deep experience integrating with Nutanix Prism v4 APIs, and solid experience working with VMware vCenter APIs. Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or other Desktop as a Service / VDI platforms is strongly preferred.

This role is about engineering excellence, architectural ownership, and shipping reliable, scalable systems-not people management.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications, tooling, and automation solutions built primarily in C#.
  • Build and evolve Nerdio's multi-cloud and multi-hypervisor orchestration capabilities supporting Nutanix AHV, VMware ESXi, Azure, and related platforms.
  • Integrate deeply with Nutanix Prism v4 APIs to manage AHV infrastructure, automation, and lifecycle operations.
  • Integrate with VMware vCenter APIs to support ESXi automation, provisioning, and orchestration workflows.
  • Design and implement scalable AVD Hybrid deployments, including host pool design, image workflows, access models, performance optimization, and operational governance.
  • Develop reusable automation using PowerShell, REST APIs, SDKs, and infrastructure-level scripting.
  • Implement monitoring, telemetry, and diagnostics to improve reliability, performance, and operational insight.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and troubleshooting across virtualization, desktop, and infrastructure layers.
  • Contribute to architectural design, technical standards, and long-term platform evolution.
  • Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to deliver end-to-end technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in C#.
  • Deep hands-on experience integrating with Nutanix Prism v4 APIs and operating Nutanix AHV.
  • Strong experience integrating with VMware vCenter APIs and working with VMware ESXi.
  • Solid understanding of virtualization concepts across compute, storage, and networking.
  • Experience building automation using PowerShell, REST APIs, SDKs, or similar technologies.
  • Experience designing and maintaining production-grade distributed systems or orchestration platforms.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating with or orchestrating AVD or other Desktop as a Service / VDI platforms.
  • Familiarity with Azure ARM APIs, and Azure Local.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript and React.
  • Experience with identity integration, cloud governance, and hybrid infrastructure design.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, or infrastructure-as-code solutions.
  • Background in image creation, application packaging, or virtual desktop optimization.
