Full Job Description
What this job involves:

JLL Design has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Designer to join our interiors studio. This individual will contribute to the growth of our business through detail-oriented, process-mindful and best-in-class project delivery for our clients. The Technical Designer implements the successful management of the design solution across multiple projects, serving as the technical lead, producer and client liaison. This individual participates during the creative thought and ideation process, pulls together innovative solutions and serves as the quality assurance and control lead during all phases of the design process.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Own documentation independently or with project team while owning redline drawings, coaching and mentoring team members on technical aspects of work products and quality control policies and procedures when necessary
  • Champion firm standards for project delivery, internal quality assurance and control, and best-practices delivery
  • Collaborate with firm Architects of Record to assure work is produced to best-in-class standards, in-line with project design intent and translatable to buildable solutions
  • Manage time to meet internal and external client deadlines while overseeing Construction Administration process in assuring work products are in compliance with documented design intent
  • Communicate concepts and ideas to others through written, drawn, and verbal means
  • Interact regularly with Studio Lead as needed for completion of assigned projects and serve as Mentor to other design peers
  • Manage construction administration processes such as review of shop drawings, product data review, samples, and mockups, including proper documentation filing with appropriate review and stamp notations
  • Conduct site visits as required for field verification or during construction administration phase including completion of site reports as required
  • Coordinate technical design deliverables, technical detailing, and manage documentation workflows while taking on increased responsibility for quality control, clash detection, and technical problem solving
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
  • 5+ years' experience working on commercial Interior Design projects
  • Must be fluent in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Intermediate knowledge of building codes and accessibility guidelines
  • Able to research various building codes and provide interpretation consistent with best-practices
  • Intermediate proficiency in coordinating technical design deliverables, technical detailing, and managing documentation workflows
  • Strong space planning skills with focus on creating efficiencies while driving innovative planning
  • Able to take on increased responsibility for quality control, clash detection, and technical problem solving especially when coordinating across various disciplines
  • Excellent client communication and presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial attitude-must be self-motivated and self-managed and able to multi-task and organize several projects at given time
  • Excellent listening and problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines
  • Ability to excel under pressure to meet deadlines and prioritize assignments
  • Team player, culture-builder who seeks out and responds well to feedback and direction from others
  • Ability to work both independently and within the fabric of design team
  • Expected 20% travel to project sites as required

Estimated compensation for this position:

80,000.00 - 100,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
