This role is not available for sponsorship, including I-983 participation.Position Summary:The overall responsibility of the Department Leader role is to inspire manufacturing operations to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and reliability while meeting department schedule adherence and attainment goals. The incumbent models Pharmavite's purpose, beliefs, and values for their employees by: prioritizing hazard identification and correction opportunities, embedding a first-time right mentality to reduce operational non-conformances and reject/destruction costs, promoting robust root cause problem solving/CAPA development capability within their team, and meeting schedule adherence and attainment goals to deliver customer requirements.
Responsibilities:- Lead and set the standard and tone for their team by modeling Pharmavite's purpose, beliefs, and values within the team reporting to this individual.
- Driving meeting schedule adherence and attainment goals to deliver customer requirements.
- Ensure productivity, safety, housekeeping, and quality product goals are met/exceeded; coordinates daily scheduling with other departments to facilitate the flow of materials and finished goods through the department. Monitors operations of shift while sustaining changes to ensure a first-time right mentality.
- Collaborate with Production Scheduling, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Distribution, HR, Tech Ops, Engineering, Planning, Operational Excellence, and Warehouse departments to expedite and facilitate the flow of raw materials, compounds, bulk, and finished product through the department.
- The main point person is responsible for communicating and escalating shop floor issues to the appropriate internal or external support function.
- Investigate non-conformances working in partnership with Quality to drive root cause problem-solving with urgency.
- Champion/coach teams on AM projects.
- Perform analysis of raw material usage and product yields to ensure we meet or exceed standards.
- Prioritize work to ensure safety, quality, and customer needs are met and or exceeded, positively impacting production metrics.
- Ensure safe practices are being performed, and unsafe behaviors and conditions are corrected.
- Provide technical support for staff for equipment and processes (troubleshoots and develops control techniques).
- Oversees and ensures operating expenditures in order to meet or exceed expectations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education:- A four-year degree or its equivalent combination of education/relevant work experience is required.
Certification:- Six Sigma and or Lean/Continuous Improvement experience preferred
Experience:- Requires a minimum of four years' experience in manufacturing/CPG, to include supervisory/leadership experience. Specific experience in the department to which they applied is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:- Competent knowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good manufacturing practices (cGMPs) within a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment.
- Experience working within a rapidly evolving environment with the ability to adjust to changing job requirements.
- Experience leading and coaching autonomous maintenance (AM) projects.
- Experience performing auditing in areas related to cGMPs, Master Batch Record accuracy, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) requirements.
- Good organizational, analytical, problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Applications, including JD Edwards MRP and Agile PLM, are preferred.
- Ability to lead delivery of required results in Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost each shift, ensuring that succeeding shifts are set up for success.
- Experience coaching, developing, and building high-performing teams, including cross-training and empowering individuals.
- Ability to prioritize and delegate operational tasks and duties.
- General manufacturing experience in a CPG environment preferred.
- Based upon the department, the flexibility to work either 8 or 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend on an alternate date schedule, may be required.
Environment:- Exposure to disagreeable elements as may be found in a typical manufacturing environment is moderate but constant.
- Exposure to elevated temperatures within a clean environment.
Safety:- The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely without endangering their own or others' health or safety.
Supervisory Responsibility:- The incumbent has direct supervisory responsibility for 15 to 25 employees.
National Target Base Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $133,000.00.The salary range for this position is based on national standards.
For candidates in California and the New York metro, the Target Base Pay Range is $88,000.00 - $146,000.00, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas.

It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
