Job Description

Vanderlande is seeking a Demand Manager of Sales to join our Procurement Team. The Demand Manager of Sales will serve as the procurement expert during the Project Sales phase, driving standardization and cost optimization of our offers. As a DM Sales, you will be the key point of contact for procurement activities during sales, collaborating with engineering and sales teams to ensure competitive and feasible project proposals.

AstheDM Sales,youwill be the key point of contact for procurement activities during the sales phase, focusing on standardization, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and strategic supplierselection. You will help shape sales offers,initiateand/or manage RFx events for non-itemized items, and ensure seamless project handover tothe projectexecution teams. Your role is crucial in aligning procurement activities withsales objectivesand ensuring project feasibility.

Responsibilities

  • Functionasthe key point-of-contact for procurement-related activities during the Project Sales phase, supporting and collaborating with the sales engineering and sales teams to minimize total project risk andcost.

  • Help shape sales offers toleverageitemized items and ensure competitive procurement-related conditions (e.g., cost, lead times), challenging non-standard specifications tooptimizeengineering choices towards best practices and cost-efficiency from a procurementperspective.

  • During the sales phase,identifygoods or serviceswith long lead times that do not meet project requirements, developa strategy to ensure feasibility.

  • Advise project stakeholders on default products/services and supplier options and provide alternative recommendations or trigger theselectionof a new supplier when default suppliers are unsuitable due to specific projectrequirements.

  • In the Project Sales phase, initiate and/or lead RFx events (depending on the applicable category policy, profile and characteristics) for non-itemized products and services, including document creation, evaluation of supplier proposals against predefined criteria, should-cost modelling coordination, and participate in negotiations with suppliers and final supplierselection.

  • Provide procurement-related informationrequiredfor the project Supply Plan as the Project Sales process progresses and communicate any changes or concerns with the projectteam.

  • Facilitate the handover of the sales projects to theDemand Manager, Project Execution.

  • For NA resources only: Whenrequired, create andmaintainthe GFE log (Good Faith Effort), ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are accurately documentedas outlined by the sales team.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Extensive experience (5-7years) in procurement, supply chain management, or sales support within technical or engineering-focusedorganization

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, RFx management, and supplier negotiation

  • Strong analytical skills to assesscost models, lead times, and supplier proposals,identifyingopportunities for optimization

  • Experience in developing mitigation strategies for supply chain risks, particularly related to long leadtimes.

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present procurement insights to sales and engineeringteams.

  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams andstakeholders.

  • Ability to travel internationally up to5%of thetime.
