Title: Delivery Manager

Location: Middletown, NJ - 3-4 days a week

The Role

DriveNets seeks a highly technical Delivery Manager to work based out of their Middletown, NJ office managing a large-scale OSS project with our service provider customer, AT&T, on site. This is a highly customer-facing and strategic role. The selected candidate will drive day-to-day activities of the network engineering delivery function and manage and grow a team of highly experienced network engineers. You will act as a trusted technical advisor bridging business and technical strategy for the customer.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Manage and Grow the Engineering Team: Directly manage a US-based team of highly experienced network engineers, providing deep technical guidance, mentoring, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
  • Customer-Facing Technical Advisor: Act as the primary, customer-oriented technical point of contact for AT&T, building strong relationships, addressing unique network use cases, and bridging business goals with complex technical strategies.
  • Lead Technical Execution: Direct the end-to-end technical execution of large-scale OSS projects, directly overseeing architecture implementation, solution validation, and production readiness.
  • Maintain and implement SLA to provide network services that meet specific performance metrics.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance and reports on data input or output to detect problems and identify use of computing resources.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Routers, Switches, and Firewalls.
  • Develop specifications and technical documentation from customer requirements.
  • Oversee and perform detailed functional, integration, performance, and reliability testing.
  • Oversee and manage the Automate testing and deployment processes using scripting (Bash, Python) and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Design scalable, secure, and maintainable workflows, leveraging cloud networking experience where applicable.
  • Documentation skills to be used externally with customers and internally with systems including Confluence spaces and Jira tickets.
  • Deliver customer-facing projects (~30-40% client interaction) and effectively demonstrate validated OSS solutions, including solution validation, acceptance testing, and problem resolution, following Agile methodologies.
  • Prepare network-related documentation.
  • Prepare design presentations and proposals for customer, and demonstrate proof of concept to customer.


Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Networking, or closely related, or foreign equivalent;
  • At least 7 years in a network engineering or networking implementation engineering role or a closely related field;
  • At least 2 years of managing a network engineering team of 2 or more
  • Experience working with Cisco & Juniper networking technology, internet protocol networking, and standard routing protocols
  • Experience managing networking technology implementation and monitoring in large scale complex networks, preferably service providers, telecom, cable, or enterprise networks.
  • 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, software validation, or a related technical role within Service Provider environments.
  • Proven working knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., BGP, MPLS, IPv4/IPv6, SR, VPN).
  • Solid experience with Docker, Kubernetes, virtualization (KVM, VMware), and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
  • Skilled in scripting and automation frameworks/tools such as Ansible for configuration management.
  • Proficiency in a Linux environment shell, Bash scripting
  • Proficient in Python scripting
  • Experience working within Agile development methodologies and CI/CD practices.
  • Hands on experience with integration technologies (APIs) such as REST API, RESTCONF, Netconf, gRPC, SOAP, etc.
  • Solid understanding of modeling languages such as JSON, YANG, YAML, and XML.
  • Familiarity with microservices architectures and associated testing strategies.
  • Real-world experience providing technical leadership on network implementation projects
  • Problem solving, troubleshooting, reviewing log files, debugging. Being self-sufficient, but also helpful with peers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with customers and internal teams.

Nice to Haves/Advantage

  • Working knowledge of JSON and Jinja2 templating.
  • Hands-on experience with Git for version control and collaborative development workflows.
