Title: Delivery Lead

You will lead and help drive exciting new initiatives within the Canadian and International Bank - from building new features, re-platforming old technologies to improving performance, latency, availability and ultimately our customer's experience with Scotiabank. Along with this, you will interact with numerous dynamic teams across the Bank. All this to ensure we are building a cohesive, future forward bank that leverages enterprise technology assets and best practices surrounding the use of modern software development, deployment and operations principles. Clear, professional communication with peers and supporting team representatives is an important part of the job. As we build new and improve existing features for the future you will get to feel first-hand the impact of your work on the customer experience.

What does it take to succeed in this role? Excited (and a little frightened) by the scale at which we work. A roll-up-your-sleeves type. Able to think about business opportunities, operational issues, and architectural diagrams during a single conversation. Intellectually curious and dedicated to proving that "Hope is not a Strategy". What will you do?
• Primarily focused on strategy, problem solving and challenging our solution engineers to build amazing products and services.
• Ensuring products are well maintained by identifying and eliminating technical debt.
• Ability to showcase progress in projects/initiatives/programs, holding people accountable to their commitments and making sure we are on track for successful delivery.
• Participating in requirements and design discussions focused on building the best customer experience,
• Design and implementation of best practices/processes.
• Assisting in architectural solution designs, roadmaps and related strategies that are aligned to Enterprise Standards in the effort to modernization software applications.
• Present and leverage technical information and solutions in a way that establishes trust relationships, persuades stakeholders and achieves understanding and consensus at all levels.
• Assess and analyze business strategy & requirements, the current technical environment and technology options to evaluate solution alternatives that meet business needs and bank strategy.
• Participating in planning and review sessions.
• Partner with multiple teams across the bank to collaborate on strategy and direction.
• Assisting senior management to enforce standards and methodology; ensuring solutions are in line with the technology roadmap and mentoring the technical team members on a project-to project basis.

What do you need to succeed?
• Must have technical working experience with HTML, as well as analysis with a strong ability to partner with our business to deliver on project requirements which includes account setup and configurations.
• You have working experience in both a Waterfall and an Agile environment.
• Must have technical working knowledge of User Experience best practices.
• Must have technical working experience with cloud-based applications, awareness of main public cloud offerings (i.e., Google Cloud Platform)
• You possess working experience in building globally scalable financial products
• You possess working experience in defining current and future state for products and the associated roadmaps.
• Must be flexible and ready to adapt to a dynamic environment
• Must understand the software release process (environments, etc.).
• You have an attention to details, high standards for quality, ability to balance risk with technological advancements.
• You possess working experience in testing methodology to ensure zero post-implementation incidents.
• You have excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills with ability to build and foster relationships with business users, project stakeholders, strategic technology partners and external vendors.
• You bridge the gap between business and IT, ensuring common understanding and IT/Business alignment of both functional (for business needs) and non-functional requirements (reporting, performance, interfaces, constraints, etc.)
• You provide estimates for the incoming projects at both high level and detailed level requirements
• You oversee the team's support queue and facilitate problem-solving discussions and general communications between the business and IT and within IT itself

Who are you?
• You're committed to maintaining a diversified set of skills through continued education and mentoring peers and team members.
• Hands-on technical working experience in Project Management and modernizing legacy systems or similar transformational initiatives is a strong preference.
• 3-5 years of banking/financial industry experience, and/or a Bachelor (equivalent or higher) degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline would be an asset.
• You have a strong technical background (i.e. ability to assess, provide feedback, share knowledge in solution design).
