Position OverviewReporting to the Manager of Decision Support, the Decision Support Specialist will collaborate with the Decision Support team to support clinical programs and management by providing timely, accurate, and meaningful information to support evidence-baseddecision making. The successful candidate will be a pro-active team player who possesses strong analytical and problem solving abilities along with excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated commitment to customer service.
Responsibilities: - -Extract, analyze, and interpret data for internal and external reporting to support the planning and evaluation of clinical programs and services.
- Provide timely, accurate and meaningful information for program and corporate leadership to support business planning and proposals.
- Provide expertise and guidance to various leaders throughout the organization to develop performance indicators, benchmarks, and utilization management reports using both internal and external data sources.
- Collaborate with the Decision Support team to develop and validate data quality controls and processes to ensure the reliability and integrity of data used for decision making
- Work together with the Decision Support team to develop optimal solutions for improved processes and workflow.
Education:
- Undergraduate degree in a related discipline (e.g. health care administration, health information management, statistics).
- Master's degree (completed or in progress) in a related discipline preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in data management, analysis, and evaluation in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge and proficiency working with clinical administrative datasets and systems (DAD, NACRS, CCRS, NRS, OHMRS, MIS and Case Costing).
- Proficient in the use of MS Office products.
- Experienced in the use of business intelligence tools (SQL, Power BI, Cognos, SAS) and statistical analysis
- Strong analytical data reporting, presentation, and writing skills.
- Demonstrated customer service experience with the ability to establish and build effective relationships with senior leaders.
- Adept team player with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload independently to meet time constraints and deadlines.
- Good work and attendance record required.
