Title: Legal Management Services Attorney (Signing & Litigation Support) Location: Hybrid (2-3 days onsite in Virginia Beach, VA) Duration: Full-Time
Compensation: • Base salary: $70K-$100K + up to $2K/month in commissions • $90K-$100K reserved for senior-level attorneys • 3+ years of creditors' rights experience may exceed $100K (target total comp under $120K)
Work Authorization: US Citizen, GC Holders, or Authorized to Work in the U.S. without sponsorship (now or in the future)
Position Summary We are seeking a Legal Management Services Attorney to support a high-volume civil litigation practice focused on creditors' rights and debt recovery. This role is centered on signing, discovery, settlements, and document review, rather than court appearances. The attorney will play a key role in managing case workflows, executing legal documentation, and driving case resolution strategies. This position may also take on adverse claims handling and process leadership responsibilities, contributing to reporting and operational efficiency across the team. Note: While this role does not require court appearances, candidates who are open to occasional appearances in the future are preferred.
Key Responsibilities • Document Review & Signing: Review, prepare, and execute pleadings, affidavits, motions, and other legal documents to support litigation efforts • Discovery Management: Handle discovery processes including drafting, reviewing, and responding to discovery requests • Settlement Negotiations: Negotiate resolutions on active cases to drive favorable outcomes for clients • Case Oversight: Manage a high-volume caseload, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely progression of files • Adverse Claims Handling: Support complex or escalated matters, including claims requiring deeper legal analysis • Process Leadership & Reporting: Contribute to workflow improvements, reporting, and operational oversight within the legal team • Compliance: Ensure all activities align with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards
Qualifications • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) required • Licensure: Active Virginia Bar membership required • Experience: • 1+ year of civil litigation or creditors' rights experience preferred • Experience with high-volume case environments is a plus • Skills: • Strong legal writing, document review, and analytical skills • Experience with Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar research tools • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Strong negotiation and problem-solving capabilities
