Department: KA Operations Area

Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation's Whitecourt Office is currently recruiting for an Operations Foreman to join their team. This position reports to the KA Gas Plant Supervisor within Pembina's PGI Asset Team. The Kaybob Amalgamated (KA) Gas Plant is a 1st Class Steam Facility, processes 200 MMCF/day Natural Gas, and is located approximately 10 km from the town of Fox Creek, Alberta.

The Operations Foreman is accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility, including the development, implementation, and sustainability of operations workflow processes. This role provides direct supervision to operations staff and contractors, ensuring employees are adequately trained and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.

The Operations Foreman provides leadership and clear direction to their team to achieve production and operational targets and works closely with the Maintenance Foreman to ensure equipment is maintained safely and efficiently. They also support asset integrity and continuous improvement initiatives, while maintaining positive community and stakeholder relations.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Ensure behaviors and requirements of the team support Pembina's safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the Life Saving Rules, and that organizational standards and regulatory requirements are met;
  • Provide direct supervision, leadership, and support to Operations staff and contractors, including performance management, coaching, and development;
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility to meet production and operational targets;
  • Assess annual asset regulatory and corporate compliance requirements and ensure plans are developed and adjusted accordingly;
  • Ensure Operations staff and all activities adhere to safety procedures, asset integrity requirements, and workflow processes as defined in company policies and systems;
  • Ensure all changes are managed through the MOC process, including initiation and completion of action items;
  • Support maintenance and reliability activities by working closely with Maintenance and Engineering teams to optimize equipment performance and uptime;
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and reliability;
  • Accountable for and manage financial spending within area of responsibility, including contributing to budget preparation and ensuring budget targets are met;
  • Complete and maintain accurate documentation related to operations, maintenance, and safety;
  • Provide direction, measurement, and performance feedback to staff, supporting employee development and succession planning initiatives;
  • Support Engineering and Projects for new construction and site upgrades, ensuring all work is completed within Pembina Maintenance Management (PMM) guidelines;
  • Demonstrate leadership in emergency response situations, ensuring company emergency procedures are followed; and
  • Participate in and foster a team environment that supports an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.


Qualifications:

  • Progressive experience in Sour Gas Processing, Refrigeration Processing, Liquids Recovery, and Natural Gas Compression, with demonstrated career progression into Operations Leadership;
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced operational environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive performance, and support change and continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Preferred but not required, a 2nd Class Power Engineering Certificate;
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and demonstrated aptitude working with business-related systems and applications;
  • Previous CMMS (SAP) experience would be considered an asset;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License; and
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and organizational skills.


This position is considered "Safety Sensitive" and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You will also be required to provide a Driver's Abstract. The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Fox Creek, AB.
