Position Description:

This is a technical leadership role responsible for translating complex customer requirements into scalable Databricks based architectures, driving pre sales proposals, and building high performing technical teams. You will work with clients, sales teams, and delivery organizations to architect solutions that leverage the full Databricks platform, including Lakehouse, Unity Catalog, AI/ML tools, and data governance capabilities.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise with the Databricks platform, 10+ years of experience with data platform technologies, and a proven track record architecting and delivering enterprise data solutions. You combine technical depth with strong communication skills and a passion for customer success.

Your Future Duties & Responsibilities
In this role, you will own the technical vision and execution of Databricks solutions, serving as the primary architect and thought leader for customers and internal teams.
Architecture and Solution Design

. Conduct current state assessments of customer data environments and deliver future state architecture recommendations leveraging Databricks Lakehouse, Unity Catalog, and AI/ML capabilities.
. Design enterprise grade data solutions covering data ingestion, transformation, governance, analytics, and AI/ML workloads using Databricks SQL, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Mosaic AI.
. Develop data models and data product strategies aligned with customer business objectives and data maturity.
. Create detailed technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps for complex multi team engagements.

Pre Sales and Proposal Leadership

. Lead technical discovery sessions with enterprise prospects to understand data infrastructure, pain points, and strategic priorities.
. Author technical sections of proposals, RFPs, and SOWs that clearly articulate solutions and value propositions.
. Deliver compelling technical presentations and proof of concept demonstrations to executive and technical audiences.
. Partner with sales teams to identify technical risks, scope solutions accurately, and structure deals for delivery success.

Team Building and Delivery Leadership

. Build and mentor high performing technical teams of data engineers, data analysts, and junior architects.
. Lead solution delivery from kickoff through production deployment, ensuring quality, schedule, and customer satisfaction.
. Establish technical standards, best practices, and governance for Databricks implementations across the organization.
. Support customer enablement and knowledge transfer to ensure sustainable solutions and long term success.

Platform and Product Expertise

. Drive adoption of Databricks AI tools including AI Dev Kit, Genie Code, and Genie for democratizing AI/ML development and analytics.
. Architect governance and security solutions using Unity Catalog, table access controls, and data lineage capabilities.
. Guide customers on Databricks best practices for warehouse optimization, cost management, and performance tuning.
. Stay current on Databricks roadmap and emerging capabilities, translating innovations into customer opportunities.

Required Qualifications to Be Successful in This Role

. 3+ years of hands on experience with Databricks platform, including Lakehouse, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and Delta Live Tables.
. 10+ years of experience architecting and implementing enterprise data solutions with modern data platforms.
. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services.
. Strong technical foundation in data engineering, SQL, Apache Spark, Python, and distributed computing concepts.
. Experience building data models, designing ETL/ELT pipelines, and implementing governance frameworks for enterprise data management.
. Demonstrated expertise in machine learning operations, AI/ML use cases, and modern AI platforms.
. Proven experience leading technical teams and mentoring junior architects and engineers.
. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executive stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
. Experience scoping large enterprise engagements and managing technical delivery across multiple work streams.
. Strong problem solving skills and ability to work through ambiguity and technical complexity.

Prefferred Qualifications

. Databricks certification (Databricks Certified Associate Data Engineer or Databricks Certified Professional Data Engineer).
. Background in pre sales or customer facing technical roles within a consulting or systems integrator environment.
. Knowledge of Databricks partner ecosystem and integration capabilities with tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Apache Airflow.
. Experience with data governance frameworks and compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
. Track record of building repeatable solutions and accelerators that drive customer value and operational efficiency.

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $98,500.00 $182,400.00.
