Job Summary:
A Data Steward should demonstrate commitment to delivering distinctive service. This position will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of data assets within the firm. This will include ensuring data quality, assessing data quality, creating data standards, meeting client information needs, establishing data access security requirements and adhering to data and metadata standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide distinctive service to clients and prospects, in person and over the telephone. Respond to client inquiries and satisfactorily resolve client issues. Support firm-wide achievement of the three-ring standard (all phones answered by a live person within three rings). Partner with business partners and IT to ensure that data & metadata meets the organization standards and requirements. Train and educate Product Operation team members on governed data sources and metadata. Test/profile of data to ensure proper operation and continued accuracy by evaluating current and future initiatives and capabilities. Develop and implement processes to maintain metadata, including ownership, lineage, definitions and standard, for high quality data assets. Troubleshoot data quality issues - document the resolution. Utilize and build relationships with appropriate system areas to ensure cooperation on data stewardship project objectives and issue resolution. Validate newly captured strategic information to ensure it follows the design flow and format. Meet all the client's financial needs, both business and personal, and refer clients to other specialty areas such as Trust, Investments, Insurance, Treasury Management, etc. as appropriate. Assist other team members as needed to ensure delivery of distinctive service. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent -- College degree is preferred.

Minimum Experience: Minimum of 10 years' experience in information technology; minimum of five (5) years in a data-driven function and/or Data Stewardship, Data Governance Analyst, or similar data architecture role.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or related software. Proficient in data modeling and design, including SQL development and database administration. Experience developing integrated solutions and recommendations for critical processes, understanding the impact of changes within and across master data domains and downstream processes and transactions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving ability with a strong attention to detail. Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively define, motivate, and drive change across a wide range of clients and colleagues. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, create and improve processes, and use effective time management skills to meet deadlines. Ability to articulate the value of data integrity and governance clearly and concisely. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and prioritize daily tasks. Excellent client service skills. Tact and diplomacy in dealing with both clients and team members. The physical activities of this job include but are not limited to the ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time, use of manual dexterity, verbal communication, visual acuity, repetitive motion, and the ability to hear. Often long periods of mental concentration are required. Other activities are the ability to bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull, lift, and grasp.
