We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, AI/ML development, data visualization, data modeling, and data engineering, with hands-on experience in AWS cloud services, Python programming, and Power BI. You'll play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions across the organization. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams within Customer Analytics and IT to build analytics solutions, including AI/ML models, for Customer Solutions, identifying trends and patterns to determine friction points in a customer's journey, analyzing patterns in customer behavior, and determining solutions to improve customer experience.
Job Responsibilities- Collect, summarize, analyze, and deliver insights and data products utilizing data across multiple data sources.
- Identify valuable data sources and assist in optimization of data pipelines to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
- Transform data to uncover patterns, develop trends, and define analytics solutions, including AI/ML solutions, that support decisions related to initiatives regarding improving customer experience.
- Deliver insights that contribute to improvements by analyzing operational and non-operational data.
- Apply statistical analysis and data mining techniques to validate assumptions and build scenarios.
- Interpreting the data to discover solutions, identify opportunities and support decision making.
- Effectively communicate results and insights to subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
- Support business adoption of technology solutions.
Job Specific Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in data science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field.
- 2-5 years' knowledge and experience with data mining techniques, data modeling, statistical analysis, and algorithms.
- 2-5 years' experience using query languages (SQL) and developing and maintaining ETL workflows using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- 2-5 years' experience leveraging AWS services to deploy scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions.
- 2-5 years' experience in Python for analytics, SQL modeling, and AI/ML model development.
- 2-5 years' experience in data visualization using Power BI, and/or other data visualization software.
- Detailed oriented and have experience working with large data sets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate highly technical concepts in a clear, succinct, and relevant way to non-technical stakeholders.
- Results-oriented, data-driven, and self-starter.
- Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
Desired:- Advanced degree, e.g., Master's Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, etc.
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and responsible AI practices.
- AWS and/or Power BI certifications.
- Exposure to emerging technologies, such as generative AI, LLMs, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
