What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking a Data Scientist to join our AI & Data Defense and Security Segment, where the individual will collect and analyze data to identify trends, develop visualizations in support of organizational and mission goals, and support decision-making for large-scale programs within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Design and develop data visualization and dashboard solutions to provide required analytics insights (Power BI)
  • Collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data using a variety of methods and tools, such as R
  • Identifying and creating additional data visualization capabilities, as needed
  • Ensuring data governance and quality assurance standards are met
  • Conducting data validation and remediation using tools such as R and Excel
  • Analyzing current process and identifying potential improvements
  • Working with team members to summarize and report on business process improvements to include gaps in current processes and initiatives to improve processes for an organization
  • Organizing and leading client meetings, including scheduling meetings; drafting and delivering agendas and meeting minutes; providing and archiving required documentation; and documenting, tracking, and following-up on action items
  • Summarizing and presenting information and reports to the team and make recommendations (both oral and written)


What You Will Need:
  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DHS "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred
  • Bachelors Degree
  • THREE (3) or more years of experience in consulting, data analytics, or project management

  • Monitoring program operations to ensure compliance with federal regulations
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and tools for data integration, such as: Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SQL Server tools (SSIS, SSMS, SSAS, SSRS), Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Proficiency in querying data using SQL and experience optimizing SQL query performance for large datasets


The annual salary range for this position is $122,000.00-$204,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
