Job Overview:

ML Solutions team is seeking a seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Science & Gen AI - Technical Group Manager to lead our group's ambitious initiative by leveraging the power of Traditional & Generative AI. This role requires a strong blend of technical acumen, strategic thinking, and exceptional leadership skills.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience in Data science/ GenAI projects, with a proven track record of delivering impactful insights and solutions in a corporate setting. In this role, you will be responsible for taking AI models from concept to production, utilizing traditional AI, generative AI and Large Language Models. You will collaborate closely with business partners and stakeholders to introduce and embrace these advanced technologies, elevating client experiences, delivering value to our customers, and ensuring regulatory compliance through cutting-edge technology solutions. The role needs someone who have an entrepreneurial outlook and be willing to take chances to drive innovation.

You will be joining us right at the beginning of our journey. As a senior member of the team, you will lead the data science team and program including oversight over the group's data science projects. As such, we need an innovative, opinionated, and creative leader who have previous real-world experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead Data Science and Gen AI Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive Gen AI strategy aligned with the organization's overall goals and identify opportunities to automate and optimize business processes using generative AI.
  • Lead and develop a High Performing Team: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Data Science, ML Engineers and AI practitioners, ensuring retention and growth of top talent in the AI/ML space.
  • Drive Innovation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and product managers, to develop innovative AI/ML based solutions and foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the team.
  • Hands-On Execution and Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end development and deployment of Gen AI projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. Actively involve in design and coding. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation effectively.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Interaction: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, business leaders, and clients. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure the feasibility and scalability of AI solutions to solve business problems.
  • Deep understanding of latest and upcoming AI trends: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in the field and identify emerging opportunities. Lead and participate in research activities to explore and advance state-of-the-art generative AI techniques. Stay actively engaged in monitoring ongoing research efforts, keeping abreast of emerging trends, and ensuring that the Generative AI team remains at the forefront of the field.
  • Regulatory and Ethical Compliance: Ensure that AI initiatives meet regulatory, data privacy, ethical AI standards, and corporate governance policies requirements while pushing the boundaries of technology innovation.

Engineering Excellence & Best Practices:
  • Drive the adoption of modern engineering ways of working, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
  • Advocate for automated testing, infrastructure as code, and continuous monitoring to enhance software reliability.
  • Apply Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and unit testing to ensure code quality and functionality.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices in readability, performance, and security.
  • Implement and enforce secure coding practices, performing vulnerability assessments and ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Collaborate effectively in agile environments, embracing DevOps principles and fostering a culture of continuous delivery and improvement.


Skills & Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in AI and ML projects and delivering complex AI solutions.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing AI teams.
  • Strong portfolio of AI-driven projects showcasing successful implementations of Generative AI solutions in a business context.
  • Hands on experience with LLMs (Google Gemini, Open AI, Llama etc.), LangChain, LlamaIndex,LlamaIndex for context-augmented generative AI, and Hugging Face Transformers, Knowledge graph, and Vector Databases.
  • Advanced knowledge of RAG techniques is required, including expertise in hybrid search methods, multi-vector retrieval, Hypothetical Document Embeddings (HyDE), self-querying, query expansion, re-ranking, and relevance filtering etc.
  • Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Scipy, Pandas and high-level APIs like Keras is essential.
  • Advanced NLP skills, including Named Entity Recognition (NER), Dependency Parsing, Text Classification, and Topic Modeling.
  • Experience with Transfer Learning, Few-shot, and Zero-shot learning paradigms is crucial. Expertise in containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and experience with CI/CD pipelines for AL/ML model deployment.
  • Knowledge of distributed training and parallel processing frameworks is also required to handle large-scale AI projects efficiently.
  • Experience with AWS services and infrastructure related to AI/ML.
  • Experience in pattern recognition and predictive modeling.
  • Solid understanding of experimental design, hypothesis testing, and casual inference methods
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a demonstrated ability to tackle open-ended problems and drive projects to completion.
  • Financial industry experience would be a plus.

Education:
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Publications and contributions to the AI research community are a plus.
