Full Job Description
About the Role:

The Enterprise Data Platform team enables data-driven decision-making across PitchBook by delivering scalable, trusted, and accessible data products and services. Our mission is to empower teams across the Enterprise with high-quality data that drives operational efficiency, strategic insights, and faster, more confident decision-making.

As PitchBook continues to grow, the Enterprise Data Platform plays a critical role in advancing our data strategy through modern data capabilities, strong governance practices, and scalable platform solutions. We partner closely with business, analytics, and engineering teams to build reliable data foundations that support innovation, improve accessibility, and unlock enterprise value at scale.

The Data Product Manager leads the development of data products that drive business value and support user-centric decision-making. This role is responsible for advancing data accessibility, governance, and quality while partnering cross-functionally with engineering, analytics, and business teams to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions.

Operating at the intersection of data strategy, product delivery, and business outcomes, the role owns the end-to-end lifecycle of data products - from discovery and prioritization through delivery and continuous improvement. Success in this role requires strong systems thinking, the ability to manage data dependencies and remove bottlenecks, and a focus on delivering reliable, high-quality data products efficiently.

This is an excellent opportunity for a growth-oriented product manager to expand their expertise in data, analytics, and platform product management within a fast-growing environment. If you enjoy building customer-centric solutions, thrive in collaborative environments, and are passionate about delivering impactful products, we'd love to hear from you.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Own the data product roadmap, aligning priorities with business goals, enterprise data strategy, and measurable outcomes
  • Lead prioritization across initiatives using value, impact, effort, risk, and dependency frameworks
  • Continuously improve delivery flow by reducing bottlenecks, managing dependencies, and increasing delivery predictability
  • Partner with PMO and cross-functional teams to align data products with enterprise initiatives and platform priorities
  • Partner closely with data engineering on data modeling, pipeline design, and scalable architecture decisions
  • Maintain a prioritized product backlog with clearly defined epics, stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Support agile delivery by clarifying requirements, removing blockers, and driving consistent sprint outcomes
  • Use retrospectives and delivery metrics to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
  • Lead discovery efforts through stakeholder engagement, usage analysis, and data assessments to identify high-value opportunities
  • Translate business needs into clear problem statements, product requirements, and measurable success metrics
  • Ensure data products are intuitive, accessible, and aligned to the needs of technical and non-technical users
  • Define and monitor adoption, data quality, and business impact metrics to guide product evolution
  • Communicate product strategy, priorities, and outcomes effectively across technical and business audiences
  • Facilitate alignment across teams and manage competing priorities, scope, and delivery timelines
  • Deliver concise, outcome-focused updates highlighting value delivered, performance metrics, and key learnings
  • Champion data governance standards including data quality, lineage, cataloging, access management, and compliance
  • Ensure data products are discoverable, well-documented, and scalable for enterprise use
  • Promote data literacy by translating complex data concepts into actionable insights for business stakeholders
  • Partner with security, legal, and compliance teams to support privacy, regulatory, and ethical data standards
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • 2+ years of experience in data product management, analytics, data engineering, or related data-focused roles
  • 2 or more years experience defining and measuring product success through KPIs, OKRs, adoption metrics, and business impact measures
  • 2 or more years experience delivering data products end-to-end, from discovery and prioritization through implementation and adoption
  • Must have data literacy, including working knowledge of SQL, data modeling, data pipelines, BI/reporting tools, and modern data platforms

Desired skills:
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with data engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions
  • Strong understanding of Agile product delivery practices and backlog management within technical environments
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data accessibility best practices
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into actionable business outcomes
  • Strategic and systems-oriented thinker with the ability to balance business priorities, technical dependencies, and user needs
