Data Governance Senior

Position Summary

The Data Governance Senior is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the organization's Data Governance framework to ensure enterprise data is trusted, secure, compliant, and aligned with business objectives. This role establishes governance policies, standards, processes, roles, and controls that promote data quality, consistency, stewardship, and regulatory compliance across the enterprise.

Working closely with business stakeholders, data owners, data stewards, solution architects, security teams, and data engineering teams, the Data Governance Expert drives the adoption of governance best practices, defines data ownership and accountability, and ensures enterprise data assets are managed as strategic business resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain the enterprise Data Governance framework.
  • Define and standardize data governance policies, processes, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across business domains.
  • Develop and enforce data quality standards, validation rules, and monitoring processes to improve the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of enterprise data.
  • Define and manage enterprise data access policies, security classifications, and governance controls in collaboration with Information Security teams.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards related to data privacy and protection.
  • Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and business stakeholders to embed governance throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Support metadata management, business glossary, data catalog, and data lineage initiatives.
  • Monitor governance metrics, perform governance assessments, and recommend continuous improvements.
  • Promote data governance awareness, training, and adoption across the organization.
