We are currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent position for a Data Engineer in our information Technology Department at our Leamington office.

What You'll Do:
  • Troubleshoot database and pipeline issues, independently performing data profiling and root cause analysis - including review of Source-to-Target Mapping documents and data dictionaries.
  • Design, develop, and implement data controls to ensure data integrity from source to target, including verifying upstream data meets defined quality standards.
  • Lead triage meetings and collaborate with Business and Technology stakeholders to determine and implement fixes for identified data issues.
  • Maintain and continue developing the organization's data library and related process documentation to ensure consistency, traceability, and end-to-end visibility across data assets.
  • Lead triage meetings globally and collaborate with required stakeholders to determine fixes for identified data issues.
  • Automate manual data processing tasks and build scalable, repeatable data solutions, collaborating with Technology development and testing teams to ensure data transformation logic is properly developed and tested across lower environments.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate databases with applications and analytics platforms.
  • Leverage analytical tools to develop metrics that measure data quality across source systems.

What You Bring:
  • Educational background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator, Data Engineer, or in a similar data-focused role, including direct support of data pipelines for large-scale applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, primarily Microsoft SQL Server - including T-SQL, indexing, performance tuning, and backup/recovery - along with experience in ETL/ELT tools and pipeline technologies (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar).
  • Experience performing data profiling and root cause analysis, working with Source-to-Target Mapping documents and data dictionaries, and developing data quality metrics using BI tools (e.g., Power BI) to monitor data quality across source systems.
  • Experience automating manual data processes and building scalable data solutions using scripting or query languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, T-SQL), with version control experience using Git.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot to turn data into documentation and visuals - including AI-assisted data dictionaries, process documentation, and dashboards for Business Units.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, cataloging, and metadata management practices; familiarity with cloud object storage (e.g., Amazon S3) and cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake) considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead triage and troubleshooting sessions with global, cross-functional stakeholders, and to communicate complex technical details clearly to both Business and Technology audiences.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills, with sharp attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • High degree of confidentiality and integrity, with a self-starter mindset, high energy, and strong motivation, along with comfort presenting recommendations to management.
  • Ability to lift and carry items minimum 20 lbs, depending on role requirements.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel within Canada and US
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required.

What To Expect:
  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with the occasional travel to other locations as needed.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use are required.
  • Requires regular communication and coordination with team members across departments.
  • Standard workdays are Monday-Friday, with rotational on-call require. Afterhours and weekends based on business needs.
