OverviewThe Data Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining reliable data pipelines that support Children's Mercy Integrated Care Solutions analytics and operational needs. This role contributes to the development of the data platform, ensuring quality, accuracy, and scalability, while growing technical skills and collaborating effectively with peers. Develop, configure, maintain, test and monitor processes in support of a reliable, scalable, and evolving data & analytics platform in support of Children's Mercy Integrated Care Solutions goals of being a data driven organization.
#LI-DNIThis position is open only to candidates currently residing in the Kansas City area.Responsibilities- Develop data platform pipelines processes by collaborating with product owners, analysts, and architects to understand the business need, optimize dataflows, and support the implementation of new technologies. Work is accomplished through close collaboration with product owners, analysts, and architects to translate business needs into scalable data solutions. Data Engineers design and implement data pipelines, support approved data models, and continuously optimize workflows for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Develop curated, reusable, and well-modeled data assets/products (datasets, reports, dashboards) within CMICS.
- Perform thorough testing of processes to ensure continuous accuracy and reliability. Data Engineers ensure data reliability through performance benchmarking, collaborative testing, and code reviews. They validate data accuracy, resolve issues with support from senior team members, and implement automated testing and monitoring to maintain pipeline health.
- Maintain technical competency by exploring emerging technologies, participating in team discussions, and engaging in continuous learning. Data Engineers stay current by exploring emerging technologies, contributing to proof-of-concept initiatives, and actively participating in team discussions. Continuous learning is supported through professional development, documentation, and knowledge sharing, with flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or similar and 1-2 years experience with cloud-native platforms, distributed systems, and modern data practices including ETL/ETL methodologies or related experience or

Starting PayOur pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $41.57/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
