The Data and System Engineer will maintain reliable data intake, access and operating procedures for a document-analysis application serving regulatory analysts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Operate authorized data imports and exports, validate schemas and reconcile record and attachment counts.
- Preserve original files, docket identifiers, metadata, versions and links between comments and analytical outputs.
- Manage approved user accounts, roles and access reviews; maintain onboarding and offboarding records.
- Monitor data pipelines, processing jobs, error queues, storage and application health, managing operational SLOs.
- Search index construction, operation and performance optimization.
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures, verify restoration,document operational incidents, resolutions and postmortem procedures.
- Support controlled configuration changes, release verification and data-quality checks in test and production environments.
- Prepare usable, editable data exports and support closeout record transfer and retention instructions.
- Maintain runbooks, inventories, operating logs and access records; protect confidential and personal information.
- Support authorized FDMS and publication workflows without bypassing regulatory review or government approval
Requirement:- Three (3) years related experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a related area or equivalent experience (Four (4) years)
Skills:- Hands-on experience administering cloud-hosted applications and data-intensive systems, including SQL or comparable querying, structured file formats, ETL pipelines, access management and operational troubleshooting.
- Ability to diagnose incomplete imports, identify schema changes and reconcile data sets is essential.
- Strong documentation skills and comfort supporting nontechnical analysts are required
- Familiarity with federal records, FDMS, privacy controls and accessible Office exports is advantageous.
- Contract-specific federal regulatory qualifications must be assessed for the final allocation; technical expertise alone does not establish rulemaking competency
