Job PurposeOwn the customer experience for National Grid's ArcGIS Online application which includes resolving issues, expanding capabilities, and driving product value with a goal of increasing staff productivity and adoption. Other tasks may include GIS mapping, spatial analysis, data pipeline development, and process documentation.
Key Accountabilities- Administer and provide end-user support for our electrical ArcGIS Online suite (IMAP):
- Maintain the active member directory as well as their ArcGIS Online roles.
- Proactively monitor the servers and systems that keep ArcGIS Online up and running.
- Triage and resolve technical and product questions submitted by the business and translate recurring support themes into prioritized improvement goals.
- Create and maintain customer-facing enablement documentation: onboarding guides, release notes, step-by-step playbooks, and responses to frequently asked questions.
- Oversee and mentor staff on data governance rules and data management best practices.
- Lead group training sessions, webinars, and 1:1 office hour meetings to accelerate adoption and showcase new features and tools.
- Perform spatial analyses using geoprocessing tools available in ArcGIS Pro and its extensions.
- Maintain an understanding of end-to-end data flows and relevant source systems as well as the data sets and associated schemas available through National Grid's centralized data repository.
- Build relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs and success criteria.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on asset data reporting needs.
- Proven experience working with diverse teams and individuals.
- Demonstrated customer service as well as verbal and written communication skills, including a proven ability to effectively communicate with peers and both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Information Systems, Data Sciences, or Data Analytics is preferred. Associate's degree in a related field with similar work experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, problem solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficient with computer applications, including relational databases, spreadsheets, and other general applications.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and effectively in a matrix environment.
- Experience working with GIS tools and spatial data systems is required:
- Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online are required.
- GE Smallworld GIS and Safe FME are a plus.
- Experience working with any of the following is highly desirable:
- Python
- Pandas
- SQL
- Microsoft PowerBI
- JavaScript or other web development frameworks
- Experience working with utility asset information as well as LiDAR and photogrammetry data is desirable.
- Ability to synthesize customer feedback into actionable insights and improvements.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, translating between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- This position includes a Storm Role assignment. Candidates must be able to respond to storm emergencies as required.
- Ability to travel throughout the National Grid service territory as needed (less than 20%).
- Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving history.
