The Data & AI Portfolio Manager is a high-impact, enterprise strategy role, focused on defining and shaping how data and AI enhance product innovation, tailored clinical evidence, and lead to commercial value across the diagnostic businesses. You will assess, analyze, align, architect and guide execution of end-to-end data and AI strategies, connecting instrument data, clinical workflows, real-world data, and AI into scalable, differentiated capabilities across oncology, neurodegenerative disease, and infectious disease/acute care.
The role requires a leader who has developed and operationalized digital and data transformation strategies at scale, able to work hands on, at the same time, able to influence executive stakeholders and reach alignment as well as manage change across a complex, multi-OpCo environment.
This position reports to the Vice President, Chief Data Officer and is part of the Danaher Diagnostics Chief Innovation Office and will be fully remote.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:- Act as a senior strategic advisor to the CDO and Chief Innovation Office, as well as Opco presidents and Data and AI leaders in the different businesses shaping enterprise Data & AI priorities.
- Define and cocreate platform-wide data and AI strategies, executional roadmaps and solutions and architectures, spanning instrument telemetry, enterprise data platforms, and clinical/RWD ecosystems.
- Be a leading voice to influence investment decisions, cocreate use case portfolios, and help to form business cases tied to Danaher value drivers.
- Architect scalable, enterprise data ecosystems, including:
- Instrument and signal-level data to cloud platforms
- Federated, cross-OpCo data integration (imaging, omics, clinical, claims)
- Customer data feeds and clinical workflow integration
- Define how AI is applied across:
- R&D: assay optimization, instrument signal analytics
- Clinical: biomarker validation, multimodal modeling
- Commercial: RWE, claims expansion, adoption analytics
The essential requirements of the job include:- Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in Data & AI strategy, digital transformation, or advanced analytics within pharma, medtech, diagnostics, or healthcare.
- Strong preference for experience at leading strategy consulting firms (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain) with demonstrated work in:
- Developing and executing data, digital, and AI transformation strategies
- Advising senior executives in pharma, medtech, or healthcare organizations
- Proven track record as a strategic architect of enterprise data platforms and AI initiatives, including:
- Instrument or device data ecosystems and telemetry
- Clinical and real-world data (EHR, claims, registries) integration
- Clinical decision support
- Strong conceptual understanding of:
- AI/ML (including multimodal AI and LLMs)
- Modern data architectures (cloud, lakehouse, federated data models)
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
- Ability to travel - 25-35%
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:- Domain expertise in oncology, neurodegenerative disease, and/or infectious disease/acute care
- Experience with digital pathology, signal-level analytics, and multimodal data integration
- Exposure to HEOR/RWE and claims expansion strategies

The annual salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $275,000 - $300,000 This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
