How your role will add to the story:
As a Cyber Security Specialist, Defensive Automation, you will help protect our enterprise by leading the response to medium- and high-severity security events. You will guide analysts and local stakeholders through incident remediation, serve as an escalation point for complex investigations and strengthen day-to-day defensive security operations
You will also contribute to global Cyber Defense initiatives across areas such as digital forensics, malware analysis, threat intelligence, automation and security information and event management (SIEM) development. Through mentoring, collaboration and continuous improvement, you will help advance our global cyber security vision and mission
A day in the life
• Monitor and respond to high-severity security events in accordance with established processes and standards
• Guide local stakeholders and analysts through security incident containment, remediation and resolution
• Serve as an escalation point for analysts handling complex investigations and security events
• Enable the day-to-day operations of the Global Cyber Security team, with a focus on supporting and developing analysts
• Take shared accountability for incident resolution and the follow-up of related findings
• Challenge established processes and procedures to support continuous improvement and innovation
• Contribute to a global Cyber Defense project and help shape its direction through practical ideas and solutions
• Mentor teammates and promote knowledge sharing across the team
• Participate in relevant conferences and training opportunities to stay current with evolving threats, tools and practices

Posting Range: $82,909 - $114,000
Qualifikationen Mercedes-Benz Star skills, requirements & traits:
• Completed post-secondary education in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC) or a similar cyber security environment
• Advanced knowledge of incident response methodologies and the MITRE ATT&CK Framework
• Hands-on experience conducting security investigations using enterprise SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Elastic, or IBM QRadar
• Working knowledge of scripting and automation using tools such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash
• Knowledge of malware analysis concepts, including obfuscation, persistence mechanisms, command-and-control techniques, and evasion tactics
• Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, networking, and security architecture
• Relevant cyber security certifications such as GCIH, GDAT, GCDA, or SIEM-specific credentials are considered an asset
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams
• Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions while responding to complex or high-severity security incidents
