Title: Customer Marketing Manager, Drug Channel, L'Oreal Dermatological Beauty Division

Reports to: AVP - Customer Marketing

Summary

The Customer Marketing Manager role supports the Field Sales team in managing key Drug Channel accounts (specifically CVS and Walgreens). The manager's role is to work with both internal and external partners in the development and execution of go-to-market brand strategies for these specific accounts.

Roles & Responsibilities/Key Results
  • Primary focus: Lead Customer marketing plans aligned with national brand and account-specific priorities for CVS and Walgreens. This includes customer marketing programs, in-store/mass-retail events, displays, retailer conferences, and creative content for in-store displays, media, and social.
  • Support NAMs: Assist in the development, implementation, and execution of promotional strategy at CVS and Walgreens by maintaining the promotional grid and regularly meeting with retailers and third-party support to ensure in-store execution.
  • Cross-functional Communication: Regularly communicate with Field & Training teams to share account-specific support plans and changes, identifying in-store events and merchandising opportunities to support consumer sampling and sales growth.
  • Budget Management: Own and maintain specific Customer Marketing budgets aligned with marketing brand partners and Finance contacts.
  • Analytical Support: Assist NAM(s) with analyses and recommendations for account-specific programs, promotions, and events across drugstore environments.
  • Business Ownership: Proactively address gaps and opportunities, providing recommendations to NAM(s) to help drive growth in the drug channel.
  • Retailer Collaboration: Interact directly with multiple teams at CVS and Walgreens (e.g., Buying Teams, Category Managers, Inventory Associates, and Merchandising contacts) to execute L'Oréal customer initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with Brand Marketing, Media, Education Development, and Training teams to ensure national strategy is aligned with the needs of drugstore retail partners.
  • Promotional Materials: Manage the development of promotional materials with internal teams, ensuring proper execution at retail (such as promotional endcaps, seasonal floor stands, and digital/loyalty program activations).
  • Category Expertise: Serve as the category expert for the brand and competitive products within the drug channel.


Job Scope

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding that both the retailer (CVS, Walgreens) and the consumer are at the heart of all strategic planning and business decision-making.
  • National understanding of the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry with specific experience in the mass-retail or drug/pharmacy channel environment.
  • Solid understanding of the digital media and social landscape to build 360-degree plans.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, and highly adaptable in an ever-changing retail environment.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to turn data into insights and identify new opportunities to grow the business in drugstores.
  • Knowledge of working with third-party vendors to build strong shopper-focused programs.


Customer Developer & Team Member

  • Assist NAMs in developing comprehensive account-specific objectives based on the brand's national strategy to drive growth across CVS and Walgreens.
  • Proactively lead analytical projects focused on promotional performance and provide recommendations for future opportunities.
  • Participate in strategic retailer meetings, including monthly business updates, line-reviews, and joint-business planning (JBP).
  • Role is New York Headquarters-based to regularly collaborate with brand marketing, supply chain, demand planning, and finance teams.
  • Requires the ability to travel up to 20% of the time for retailer meetings, trade shows, and select conferences.
  • Ability to interact and present to senior leaders and lead cross-functional project teams.


Qualifications & Requirements
  • 4-year college degree.
  • Consumer Products background with 3-5 years of experience working with mass-retail or drug channel accounts in a sales, marketing, or category management capacity.
  • Technical Skills: Functional/technical expertise, industry knowledge, L'Oréal product knowledge, and advanced computer skills in the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Teamwork & Cooperation
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis is required. No immigration support/sponsorship is offered for this role.
  • Being present in the office three days a week is considered an essential function of all office-based roles for eligible full-time employees.
