The Curriculum & Learning Specialist works to design courses, produce training materials, QA content, and deliver professional development. This is a role for someone who loves making high-quality educational content, enjoys teaching adults, is enthusiastic about using AI-powered learning tools to improve student outcomes and save teachers time, and wants to grow into a broader customer-facing and strategic function over time.
What you'll do:Curriculum Development and Content Creation
- Design and build courses aligned to customer contract requirements using Kira's AI-powered course creation tools and instructional design best practices
- Support large-scale course builds including domestic curriculum and international programs
- Conduct QA review for all customer-facing courses prior to release, including contractor-produced content, ensuring alignment with Kira's instructional standards
- Develop lesson plans, vocabulary lists, pacing guides, and standards crosswalks that help districts use Kira's platform for their own curriculum needs
- Design content with localization and multilingual audiences in mind, particularly for LATAM and international government partners
Professional Development Support and Delivery
- Develop and maintain training materials, facilitator guides, agendas, and speaker notes for PD sessions across domestic and international accounts
- Produce contractor-ready materials that allow Kira's growing facilitator network to deliver sessions independently without sacrificing quality
- Co-facilitate in-person and virtual PD sessions during initial engagements, progressing toward independent facilitation for assigned accounts over time
- Own follow-up commitments from PD sessions, communicating resolution promptly to the customer and assigned Customer Success Manager (CSM)
- Travel to facilitate in-person PD sessions as needed
Quality Assurance and Standards Alignment
- Review all customer-facing courses and training materials prior to delivery, flagging instructional gaps, alignment issues, or platform inconsistencies
- Understand when AI is useful, and when a human eye is necessary.
- Maintain and update standards crosswalk documentation as course content and state requirements evolve
- Ensure all curriculum reflects a 'teaching with Kira' lens - designed for whole-class instruction, real classroom contexts, and meaningful engagement, not just platform onboarding
- Support the Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles course update process to meet current College Board standards
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain up-to-date records of training activity, curriculum deliverables, and session outcomes in HubSpot
- Report training delivery metrics (sessions, participants, completion rates, qualitative feedback) to CS leadership for customer and partner reports
- Contribute to annual PD calendar development and summer planning
What we're looking for:- Former educator: K-12 classroom experience is required, not preferred
- Strong instructional design background, ideally in K-12 and/or higher education
- Genuine curiosity about AI-powered tools and how they can support real classroom outcomes
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables, communicate proactively, and work independently in a distributed, fast-moving team
- Computer science or STEM education background
- Spanish language proficiency - given our growing LATAM portfolio (El Salvador, potential Puerto Rico university work), this is a meaningful differentiator
- Experience designing curriculum for multilingual, international, or non-traditional learner audiences
- Familiarity with AI-powered course creation tools or a demonstrated ability to learn new EdTech platforms quickly
- Experience writing facilitator guides or contractor-ready training materials
- A 'teaching with technology' orientation - always asking what will actually work in a classroom, not just what looks good on a slide deck
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure where none exists yet
- Willing to handle the 'repeat' work (the foundational trainings, the QA passes, the contractor materials) with care and craft, while growing toward more strategic responsibilities over time
- Eager to learn how a fast-scaling EdTech company operates and contribute beyond a narrow functional lane
