Responsibilities

  • Confirm patient identity and verify exam details prior to scans
  • Coordinate with physicians to deliver effective diagnostic imaging
  • Prepare and comfort patients for their scans, ensuring they understand the procedure
  • Administer IVs for the exams when required
  • Assist in positioning patients, including those with mobility restrictions, following safety protocols
  • Document patient interactions and imaging results accurately using EPIC and ensure images are correctly sent to PACS
  • Maintain a clean, safe scanning environment

This is a Travel position. You must live more than 30 miles from the facility to be considered for this position.

Description:

CT TechnologistShift Details
  • 4x10-hour shifts
  • Monday - Thursday, 9:30 PM - 8:00 AM EST
  • On call, callback, and holiday coverage per unit needs
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan; strictly adhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety
  • Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging
  • Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable
  • Insert IVs when necessary for the test
  • Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling
  • Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within EPIC, to include identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion
  • Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility
Required Qualifications
  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and maintains Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • NYS licensure (must obtain prior to starting position)
  • Two (2) years of experience
  • Level 1 Trauma Center experience
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Injection certification preferred - must be willing to complete during the orientation process
  • Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment preferred
