About the job

The Cost Intelligence Center of Excellence (COE) is a newly established, highly strategic function within CICM (CSCO Indirect Category Management). Our core mission is to empower Google Cloud's category management and sourcing teams with deep market insights, robust should-cost models, and advanced analytics.

As the Cost Intelligence Program Manager, you will be a foundational member and key architect of our new Cost Intelligence COE. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the methodologies, tools, and processes for should-cost modeling, market intelligence gathering, and value engineering. This role requires a highly analytical and strategic individual who can build complex financial models, dissect supplier cost breakdowns, synthesize market data, and translate these insights into clear, actionable recommendations for category managers and leadership (e.g., negotiation levers). You will partner closely with Category Management, Analytics, Finance, and other stakeholders to provide the data-driven foundation for strategic decision-making, negotiation strategy development, and continuous cost improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain sophisticated should-cost models for key indirect spend categories (e.g., professional services, 3PL, software, transportation), incorporating factors like labor rates, material costs, overhead, profit margins, and regional variations.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive market intelligence program, continuously gathering, analyzing, and disseminating data on supplier landscapes, market trends, price indices, and emerging technologies.
  • Act as a key analytical partner to category managers during strategic sourcing events and supplier negotiations, providing real-time cost insights, scenario modeling, and negotiation leverage points.
  • Establish a standardized methodology and toolset for bottom-up cost analysis, enabling a deeper understanding of supplier pricing beyond surface-level benchmarks.
