Position SummaryThis position has overall responsibility for the operation and administration of the Kenosha Correctional Center (KCC). This position plans, organizes, and directs all activities of a multi-phased community centered minimum-security facility, including security, treatment, rehabilitation, and general service programs.
This position promotes and maintains community liaison activities by developing a variety of community resources through innovative ideas. This position directly supervises staff and has overall administrative responsibility for additional employees. The center provides services to an average of 110 Persons in our Care (residents).
Areas supervised include business management, community work crews, food service, laundry, maintenance, resident's work release, and school release programs. This position will usually be on-call on a 24-hour basis (including holidays and weekends) and is responsible for performing any task or activity within the center including officer duties, managing emergency situations such as disturbances, escapes, urinalysis, purchasing, groups, and supervision.
Salary InformationThis position is in pay schedule and range 81-02 with a starting pay of
$54.48/hour -
$56.55/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A two-year Career Executive trial period will be required, or for those with permanent status as a Career Executive, a twelve-month probationary period may be required instead.

Job DetailsThis position is not eligible for remote work and will work on site.
This position is FLSA Exempt.
Anticipated schedule will be Monday - Friday 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM.
This position will also have on-call responsibilities which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
This position may occasionally travel to other DOC worksites but is not anticipated to travel on a regular basis. Most DOC positions occasionally travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events.
QualificationsThe qualifications listed below will be evaluated in the first step of the selection process and must be clearly described in the letter of qualifications and resume:
Minimally qualified applicants will have:
- Experience managing and planning programming (e.g., education, recreation, vocational training, etc.).
- Experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (i.e., local law enforcement, local governments, etc.).
- Experience with administration of a budget.
In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have:
- Experience developing and implementing an overall security plan for a facility to ensure safety and continuous operations, in accordance with administrative rules, legal mandates, directives, policies and procedures.
- Experience overseeing the operations of a facility that houses residents, managing multiple service areas (e.g., business office, food service, laundry, sanitation, maintenance, etc.).
- Experience performing supervisory activities (establishing operating procedures, conducting performance evaluations, performing supervisory administrative functions, hiring, etc.).
