Full Job Description
A Typical Day

The Dairy Products Sales Coordinator is responsible for the sale and profit maximization for dairy products, specifically, feed grade liquid whey, permeate and cheese waste reporting into the Dairy Sales Manager. This role must be closely integrating with the Manufacturing, Quality and S&OP teams due to the sensitivity of products constraints to production and the food safety requirements of these milk products. The coordinator also must be able to work with external stakeholders who include local farms, haulers and customers with processing capacity.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, haulers and dairies.
  • Understand market data/conditions to formulate sales strategy for improved value and total margin.
  • Develop and maintain subject-matter expertise on designated categories to respond to both internal needs and external market trends.
  • Serve as a project leader and unify various departments to achieve common goals for strategic development of the dairy products business.
  • Manage and direct customer allocations for sales and negotiate sales contracts in the best interest of the business over the short, medium and long term.
  • Visit customers to provide sales service, to expand sales volume and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide and share sales and market information on a timely basis to Manufacturing and S&OP for planning purposes.
  • Interact with other key departments to ensure successful support of sales efforts.
  • Lead the development of new sales as necessary to support expansion to new markets.
  • 40% - 60% Travel


What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Food Science, or related field plus 5 years' related experience or Master's degree plus 1 year related experience.
  • Experience in the dairy industry.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to demonstrate exceptional integrity, ethics, and the ability to earn customer/team members' trust.
  • Knowledge of production operations management of dairy products/commodities.
  • Experience developing strong internal and external business relationships.
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze industry dynamics, suppliers, customers, and marketplace trends.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The role has periods of time when the work environment is sedentary and conducted in an office environment balanced with frequent occasions that require prolonged walking or standing, lifting/ carrying/handling moderate weight objects on a regular basis. Is required to wear PPE and have a regular presence in manufacturing and warehouse environments in both temperature controlled and uncontrolled locations.
