Established real estate organization seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee financial operations across a multifamily residential portfolio throughout the New York metro area. Portfolio includes market-rate, mixed-income, and affordable housing properties. The Accounting Manager/Controller will lead a property accounting team responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and operational support across a large residential portfolio. This role will partner closely with property management and senior leadership to ensure accurate reporting and strong financial performance.
Responsibilities- Oversee property accounting operations and financial reporting
- Review budgets, reconciliations, workpapers, and monthly reporting packages
- Mentor and manage accounting staff
- Partner with property management teams on financial performance and analysis
- Assist with onboarding newly acquired properties into accounting workflows
- Prepare financial analysis and reports for leadership
- Support process improvements and special projects
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA or MBA preferred
- 5+ years of accounting leadership experience
- Real estate or property accounting experience preferred
- Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
- Yardi or similar ERP experience preferred
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
Compensation: $150,000-180,000Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
