We are seeking a
Controller to join a leading IT consulting and staff augmentation firm headquartered in Atlanta, GA. The Controller is responsible for managing the end-to-end financial workflow that connects consultants, customers, vendors, and the broader business - owning everything from payroll processing and customer invoicing to vendor payments, AR management, line-of-credit oversight, and monthly reconciliations.
This role works closely with senior leadership, recruiting, sales, customers, consultants, and vendors, requiring strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to keep complex financial operations running smoothly day-to-day. The ideal candidate has deep experience in financial operations within IT consulting or staff augmentation businesses and is comfortable acting as the operational hub between finance, customers, and field consultants.
Key Responsibilities - Manage the financial workflow from consultant to customer, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the full lifecycle
- Own and operate the time and expense management system that supports payroll processing, customer invoicing, and vendor payments
- Manage an 8M+ line of credit on a daily basis, including draws, paydowns, and ongoing monitoring
- Interact seamlessly with upper management, customers, consultants, and vendors as the financial point of contact
- Follow up with Recruiting and Sales on information provided in the portal, as well as any issues with Consultants and Customers
- Perform monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
- Perform daily reconciliation of Accounts Receivable and follow up on past-due invoices
- Perform monthly reconciliation between all income and COGS accounts
- Maintain excellent communication with all banking partners and stakeholders
- Oversee payroll processing for consultants and W2/1099 contractors
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, systems, and controls

Technical Requirements - 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial operations experience
- Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager
- Direct experience in IT consulting, staff augmentation, or professional services industries (strongly preferred)
- Hands-on experience managing time and expense management systems (e.g., BigTime, Replicon, Unanet, Beeline, or similar)
- Strong experience with accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar)
- Experience managing lines of credit and partnering with banking institutions
- Hands-on experience processing payroll for W2 employees and 1099 contractors
- Strong AR/AP management experience, including past-due invoice follow-up and collections
- Experience performing bank, AR, income, and COGS reconciliations
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, financial modeling)
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll, sales tax, and U.S. compliance requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification preferred

- Compensation: $70,000 - $100,000 usd annually - Individual pay within the posted range is determined by multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
