Corporate Controller to help lead the continued professionalization of its accounting and finance function. The company has a strong operating platform, a lean corporate team, and a mandate to improve financial processes, reporting, systems, and business partnership as it enters its next phase of growth.
This is a high-visibility role for a hands-on accounting leader who wants to do more than manage the close. The company is looking for someone who can improve core accounting processes, strengthen controls, enhance reporting, support a major ERP transition, and partner closely with finance and operating leadership.
Position OverviewThe Corporate Controller will be responsible for leading the accounting function and helping build a more scalable, disciplined financial infrastructure. This person will own the close process, improve reporting routines, support cash flow visibility, and help create sustainable processes across the organization.
The right candidate will be comfortable operating in a dynamic, transformation-oriented environment. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys fixing underdeveloped processes, implementing better systems, and building a stronger accounting foundation inside a middle-market company.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
- Improve accounting processes, controls, reporting cadence, and overall financial discipline.
- Support the company's ERP transition and help drive adoption of improved systems and workflows.
- Prepare and improve financial reporting, management reporting, and cash flow reporting.
- Support lender and stakeholder reporting requirements.
- Partner with finance and operating leadership to provide better visibility into business performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a growing accounting team.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows through automation, improved tools, and better data processes.
- Help build a scalable accounting and finance infrastructure to support future growth.
Qualifications- Progressive accounting leadership experience, ideally as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Director of Accounting, or similar role.
- Strong command of the close process, financial reporting, cash flow reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience improving accounting processes, systems, and reporting.
- ERP implementation or system conversion experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working with lenders, ownership groups, or outside stakeholders preferred.
- Comfortable working in a lean, hands-on, middle-market environment.
- Strong business-partner mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Intellectually curious, process-oriented, and motivated by change/improvement work.
- Services, project-based, field-based, manufacturing, or other operationally oriented industry experience preferred.
- CPA preferred but not required.
Ideal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who can own the close while also helping elevate the broader finance function. This person should be comfortable moving between detailed accounting work and higher-level process improvement, reporting, and business partnership.
The company is not looking for someone who only wants to produce financial statements. The best fit will be someone who wants to learn the business, engage with operations, improve systems, and help build a more mature finance organization.
Compensation and Logistics- Base salary: $200,000 to $225,000
- Target bonus: approximately 30%
- Location: Glendora, CA
- Work arrangement: Primarily onsite, with some flexibility for the right candidate
