Position Summary

The VP of Finance will serve as the right hand to the CFO and a strategic business partner to the executive leadership team. This individual will own the company's financial reporting cadence from month-end close through board-level reporting while leading budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable operating in the details of accounting and financial reporting while translating business performance into clear and actionable insights for executives, board members, investors, and lenders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation and delivery of board decks, executive reporting packages, and investor/lender presentations
  • Develop financial narratives and performance insights for executive leadership and board meetings
  • Own the month-end close process and preparation of monthly GAAP financial statements
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, cash management, fixed assets, payroll, and financial reporting accuracy
  • Manage inventory valuation, reserves, markdown analysis, and gross margin reporting
  • Ensure compliance with sales tax, property tax, and other local tax requirements
  • Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning processes
  • Partner with department leaders on budget management, variance analysis, and performance reviews
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital optimization
  • Build financial models to support growth initiatives, product launches, and strategic investments
  • Collaborate with merchandising and operations teams on inventory planning and margin management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team while building scalable processes and controls
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting, forecasting accuracy, and close timelines
  • Serve as the primary owner of NetSuite or equivalent ERP systems
    Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with at least 3 years in a senior finance leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience preparing board-level reporting and presenting financial results to executives, investors, and board members
  • Strong technical accounting foundation with experience owning the month-end close and GAAP financial reporting
  • Proven FP&A experience including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, KPI reporting, and long-range planning
  • Experience within consumer products, fashion, retail, wholesale, or e-commerce environments strongly preferred
  • Hands-on NetSuite experience or experience with a comparable ERP system
  • Combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred
  • Track record of building, developing, and scaling finance and accounting teams

  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities
  • Strong PowerPoint / Google Slides presentation skills with experience preparing board materials
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear business recommendations
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
