Contracts Lead II - Oil & Gas

Are you a seasoned procurement professional with a deep understanding of the oil and gas industry? We're looking for a Contracts Lead II to join our team and oversee high-stakes agreements that keep our operations running smoothly. In this vital role, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of complex contracts, negotiate strategic terms with suppliers, and ensure procurement processes are aligned with industry standards and safety regulations. Your expertise will help optimize spend, mitigate supply chain risks, and build lasting supplier relationships essential for achieving operational excellence in the energy sector.

What You'll Do:

  • Negotiate contract pricing, terms, and conditions directly with suppliers of equipment, materials, and services critical to oil and gas exploration, production, and refining-working closely with internal teams to secure the best value.
  • Manage and sustain a comprehensive agreement portfolio, including scope updates, amendments, and strategic pricing aligned with industry cycles.
  • Ensure full compliance with procurement policies, industry safety standards, and internal controls, executing the procure-to-pay process accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor supplier performance, troubleshoot issues promptly, and ensure contract utilization supports project deadlines and safety protocols.
  • Identify opportunities within contracts to maximize value, reduce cycle times, and improve operational efficiencies across upstream, midstream, and downstream activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to develop commodity category strategies, leveraging market intelligence specific to oil and gas sectors.
  • Drive process innovations that reduce risks and support regulatory compliance, including safety and environmental standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional communication abilities tailored to technical and commercial negotiations within oil & gas environments.
  • Proven experience with procure-to-pay processes, contract drafting, and management of oilfield equipment, specialty materials, or services.
  • Negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building skills that thrive in high-pressure industry settings.
  • Proficiency with procurement systems and tools specific to energy operations and supply chain management.
  • Decisive awareness of safety protocols, compliance, and risk mitigation in oil & gas projects.

Nice to Have Skills:
