Full Job Description
Continuous Improvement Manager

Role Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead and direct the 3PL Continuous Improvement efforts in the sites to achieve key goals and objectives using The Radial Continuous Improvement System.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction and support to site CI champions.
  • Coaches to ensure the Radial Continuous Improvement System is consistently evolved and implemented across responsible network sites.
  • Plans, performs, and implements process improvement initiatives in support of operations leaders leveraging continuous improvement tools and methods.
  • Organize, lead, and facilitate cross-functional project and/or kaizen teams responsible for improving processes at the site level.
  • Partner with operations leaders, engineering resources and subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify, prioritize and implement improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for supporting operations strategic goals such as improving speed of service, quality of service delivery, process efficiency and effectiveness, and process innovation and transformation.
  • Conduct various continuous improvement training sessions such as, but not limited to; problem solving, continuous improvement tools, visual management, 5s, and kaizen facilitation
  • Work with operations leaders to ensure that work instructions, standard work and training materials are updated as processes are improved.
  • Partner with finance and operations to document savings related to process improvement activities, including follow-up to ensure post-improvement sustainability
  • Interact with various senior leaders while providing updates on continuous improvement program and activities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing organizational strategies leveraging such tools as Hoshin planning.
  • Work closely with site leaders to develop CI capability and understanding of operational processes and serve as a change agent for internal continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive the development of compelling business cases for projects, developing roadmaps to enable future state, and managing implementation to achieve tangible benefits.
  • Educate, coach, and mentor employees at all levels in the organization to establish an engaged Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence culture
  • Successfully manage project timelines, resources, deliverables, and present regularly to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree. Certified lean/six sigma greenbelt or black belt preferred.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement leader with 3+ years progressive experience in a manufacturing, production, and/or distribution environment.
  • Must have experience in various levels of continuous improvement maturity organizations, from developing and launching CI implementation to overseeing mature programs.
  • Ability to understand and thrive in a high-volume work environment during extremely busy peak seasons while executing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; credible with internal stakeholders and external audiences; comfortable meeting with/presenting to executives and senior management.
  • Self-motivated with high sense of urgency. Able to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Critical thinker and capable of analyzing data using Excel, Minitab, Tableau, Power BI, or some other alterative.
  • Experienced practitioner of Microsoft Office Suites with good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and Outlook.
  • Proven project implementations with demonstrated process improvements, KPI, and financial results realized.
  • Solid hands-on experience using a wide range of lean/six sigma management tools (value stream mapping, fish bone diagram, pareto diagram, 5S, visual management, Kanban, Standard Work, Hoshin planning/X-matrix, etc.)
  • Project/program management experience capable of managing multiple projects, programs, and/or priorities and using PM software i.e. Smartsheet, Project Manager, etc.
  • Experience in team development - problem solving, conflict resolution, building collaborative relationships, and effective communications.

  • This position is not remote in the US.
