Full Job Description
Ignite Digital is seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement Consultant to support Department of the Navy (DON) Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Mission Systems digital modernization efforts. This role will provide strategic and tactical support across IT Service Management (ITSM), Continuous Process Improvement/Continual Service Improvement (CxI), process optimization, performance management, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate is an experienced process improvement professional who can independently assess complex operational challenges, translate data into actionable recommendations, facilitate improvement initiatives, and work effectively with senior government and technical stakeholders. The candidate should be comfortable moving between strategic analysis and hands-on execution and should have a strong understanding of established process improvement and ITSM methodologies. Responsibilities: - Serve as a senior advisor and subject matter expert for CxI and ITSM activities supporting Department of the Navy digital and infrastructure modernization efforts - Lead and manage the end-to-end Continuous Improvement lifecycle, including intake, assessment, prioritization, analysis, implementation, performance measurement, and sustainment - Apply structured methodologies such as DMAIC, Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, , and Agile to identify root causes, improve processes, reduce operational inefficiencies, and strengthen service delivery - Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, systemic issues, performance gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement - Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), performance measures, and management reporting that provide leadership with meaningful insight into operational performance and improvement outcomes - Facilitate cross-functional improvement initiatives involving engineering, operations, program management, logistics, procurement, contracting, and other stakeholder groups - Provide leadership and facilitation support to engineering and analyst teams executing improvement initiatives, ensuring activities remain aligned to defined objectives, timelines, and expected outcomes - Develop current-state and future-state process models and conduct structured assessments of potential solutions, including feasibility, impacts, risks, and implementation considerations - Establish and maintain governance processes that provide appropriate visibility into improvement initiatives, decisions, actions, risks, and results - Prepare and present findings, recommendations, status updates, and performance information to senior government and organizational leadership - Work directly with senior stakeholders to define objectives, establish success criteria, align priorities, and translate strategic goals into executable improvement initiatives - Support development and delivery of training, knowledge-sharing, and process improvement enablement activities for project and operational personnel - Identify opportunities to improve workforce utilization, workload allocation, organizational processes, and delivery models based on operational data and customer requirements - Develop executive-level briefings, reports, analyses, process documentation, and other technical and management deliverables - Support proposal development, technical volumes, staffing plans, and other business development activities as needed - Perform other duties as required to support customer mission objectives Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered - 10+ years of professional experience in process improvement, IT service management, program/project management, business process analysis, or a related discipline - 7+ years of demonstrated experience leading or supporting Continuous Improvement, process optimization, service improvement, or operational performance initiatives - Demonstrated experience applying structured process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, or ITIL - Experience analyzing operational data and translating findings into actionable recommendations and measurable improvement opportunities - Experience developing and managing KPIs, performance metrics, process measures, or management reporting - Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex initiatives from problem identification through implementation and sustainment - Experience facilitating cross-functional teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholder groups - Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills - Demonstrated ability to communicate complex operational or technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences - Ability to obtain and maintain a DoW Secret clearance Desired Qualifications: - Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification - PMP certification - ITIL 4 Foundation or higher certification - Experience supporting the Department of War (DoW) and/or Department of the Navy (DON) - Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, digital transformation, or IT service delivery organizations - Experience working in an Agile environment - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using data to support operational analysis and decision-making - Experience developing executive-level briefings and presenting recommendations to senior government or organizational leadership - Experience establishing or managing governance frameworks for enterprise initiatives - Experience developing process maps, workflow models, standard operating procedures, or other process documentation Location: National Capital Region Schedule: Hybrid 2-3 days onsite Salary: 120k+ to align with experience and education Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
