Overview

Who we're looking for

Toyota's Privacy & Governance Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Privacy Operations Consultant.

Reporting to the Privacy & Governance Senior Manager, this role leads consultant-level strategy and execution to advance privacy governance across TMNA. The position drives enterprise-wide advocacy and training, builds and sustains a global privacy network, and develops mechanisms to proactively monitor and synthesize external changes in automotive privacy expectations, consumer sentiment, and evolving legal/regulatory requirements. The person in this role will be a subject matter expert on compliance with privacy regulations across digital platforms, including cookie management, consent processes, website tracking and collaborating with Marketing Technology and other marketing teams.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and complex tasks effectively.
  • Proven ability to work with and successfully communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.


This position is based in Plano, Texas. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location.

What you'll be doing
  • Recommend solutions on how to categorize, manage, and ensure compliance of cookies and tracking technologies across digital platforms in alignment with privacy regulations.
  • Work with the Consumer Ops Privacy Manager to determine the best approach for implementing and updating consumer consent mechanisms (e.g., opt-ins, opt-outs) on websites and digital platforms to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Drive execution on when and how to update privacy notices across websites and digital platforms to ensure they accurately reflect data processing practices and comply with evolving privacy laws.
  • Categorize and track third-party versus service provider contracts to ensure that privacy obligations and data protection requirements are met.


What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Law, Business, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in privacy, compliance, or data protection roles, with strong knowledge of digital privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Experience with consumer privacy choices, cookie management, and website tracking compliance.
  • Solid understanding of third-party contract management and privacy compliance.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, especially the Marketing Technology team and other marketing teams, to implement privacy and compliance solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and manage complex privacy challenges across digital platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while interacting with various business units.
