What you'll be doing

You'll be joining CIBC's Technology Operations team, which is responsible for the operational management of technology services across the organization, including enterprise services such as email, Telecom, Disaster Recovery, Network Servers, Availability, and Change Management. As an Infrastructure Design Consultant on the Fast Path team, you'll lead low - medium complexity projects to design strategic infrastructure solutions aligned with CIBC's enterprise architecture roadmap. You'll perform Infrastructure Solution Design for a high volume of Service Now requests across all Lines of Business, including platform selection and sizing, data management, Disaster Recovery, high availability, migration approaches, and other infrastructure requirements. You'll collaborate with architecture groups, Platform Managers, Information Security and Risk Management (ISRM), and Engineering teams to ensure solutions meet CIBC standards. Throughout project implementations, you'll support the integration of distinct products to form the infrastructure needed for application deployment, helping to enable efficient operations and business growth through reliable and scalable design for both cloud and on-premises services.

How you'll succeed
  • Solution Design & Integration - Ensure all engineering, operational, security, and architectural requirements are incorporated into every design. Assemble client-focused infrastructure solutions that meet business and technical requirements, preparing and validating design documentation to support quality assurance and standards compliance.
  • Collaboration & Leadership - Work alongside business consultants, application developers, and subject matter experts to design and implement solutions. Provide guidance and mentorship to technology and project professionals, supporting team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process challenges.
  • Client Engagement - Meet with application developers and business partners to understand their priorities, advise them on infrastructure solutions, and provide guidance on technology and standards. Use your technical knowledge to help clients achieve their business objectives.
  • Strategic Planning & Delivery - Support the timely delivery of comprehensive infrastructure designs for Technology Operations and Application Development projects, ensuring efficient operations and scalability.


Who you are
  • You have relevant education and experience. You hold a bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, and bring at least 3 years of experience in infrastructure design, solution consulting, or a similar role leading projects and designing solutions.
  • You understand application architectures and cloud platforms. You have a strong grasp of migration strategies (such as lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecting), and familiarity with both cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments.
  • You're a strong communicator and collaborator. You possess excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • You're digitally savvy and embrace change. You seek out innovative solutions, adapt easily to new tools and trends, and champion continuous improvement and evolving technologies.
  • You give meaning to data and solve problems. You enjoy investigating complex problems, making sense of information, and creating solutions that are cost-effective and aligned with business objectives.
  • You have proficiency with tools and methodologies. You are comfortable with the Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with Service Now, Agile methodologies, DevOps concepts, or application/architecture development is an asset.
