What you'll be doing
The Risk Business Intelligence Office (RBIO) supports strong governance, effective controls, and consistent reporting practices across the organization. As a Consultant, Governance and Controls, you'll help develop, maintain, and improve standardized processes, policies, and procedures that support the team’s reporting and governance activities. You'll contribute to oversight activities to help ensure reporting production, testing, and implementation align with established requirements and expectations. In this role, you'll support day-to-day RBIO operations, including runbook activities, issue management, production releases, and maintenance of the centralized reporting inventory. You'll also assist with risk-related activities such as control testing, compliance exercises, and internal and external engagement support. In addition, you'll provide project management support for new reports and changes to existing reporting, helping track milestones and coordinate key deliverables.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. How you'll succeed
- Governance and controls - Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of RBIO processes, policies, procedures, and job aids. Help promote consistent practices and proactive governance in alignment with established policies and standards.
- Process improvement - Identify opportunities to standardize procedures, improve efficiency, and strengthen documentation practices. Maintain historical repositories and ensure key materials are current, organized, and accessible.
- Risk and compliance support - Contribute to control testing, compliance exercises, and internal or external review activities. Help monitor adherence to governance requirements and support follow-up actions where needed.
- Reporting operations - Support runbook activities, maintain the centralized risk reporting inventory, and help oversee issue management and production release processes. Assist with validating reporting-related information and identifying anomalies or gaps.
- Project coordination - Provide project management support for new reports and enhancements to existing reporting. Track workback plans, monitor milestones, and help coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders.
Who you are
- You have relevant experience. You bring 3-5 years of experience in compliance, risk, audit, governance, or project management within a financial services environment. Your experience helps you understand the importance of strong controls, clear documentation, and consistent execution.
- You're knowledgeable in. Risk and governance processes, with some exposure to areas such as credit, retail, wholesale, market, or operational risk. Experience supporting risk assessments, control testing, or compliance activities would be an asset.
- You have strong technical skills. You're comfortable working with desktop and data analysis tools, including Microsoft Excel, SQL, and VBA. Familiarity with tools such as SAS Enterprise Guide, IBM Cognos, Informatica Data Quality, IBM Information Governance Catalog, or Oracle Data Relationship Management is an asset.
- You're organized and adaptable. You can manage multiple priorities, work through competing deadlines, and stay focused in a changing environment. You use sound judgment to prioritize work and keep activities moving forward with minimal supervision.
