What You’ll Be Doing

You will be joining the enterprise technology team within CIBC. As the Consultant, Data Developer you are responsible for leading the planning, technical design, development, and integration of complex, enterprise-scale applications within the Finance Technology team. This role assembles, implements, and maintains flexible and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience, while ensuring alignment with CIBC’s digital transformation strategy and business objectives.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Design and Development: Perform and coordinate complex application programming activities to deliver robust scalable solutions. Design technical infrastructure using appropriate databases programming languages utilities and testing methodologies. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative applications that meet business needs.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with the bank’s vision strategy and business goals. Lead multiple complex projects involving backend systems new technology adoption and enhancement of existing applications.
  • Leadership: Act as the development team lead running code-review sessions to ensure project milestones and goals are met. Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge collaborating and facilitating problem-solving.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience in: Minimum 7 years’ experience in Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Oracle DB, Cloud technologies (Azure), Python, CI/CD, GITHUB, Batch Job Scheduler. (Preferably Autosys), SFTP File transfers tools. Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design and structured Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) is an asset. Essential for development within Databricks and ADF for building pipelines. Other Cloud/API Tech: Experience with REST APIs and broader Azure services (1–3 years is an asset).Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related technical discipline. Advanced application development and technical leadership skills. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and strategic planning capabilities. Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
